Default Just Watched Holyfield Vs Quawi again and you know what....

With all Evanders heart...with all his comebacks and great fights at HW....I almost forgot how good he was at cruiserweight.....

IMO prime Evander at Cruiser is the best that division has ever seen....

Mormeck, Bell, Haye or any of the other guys around today would just be another W in his column

    Anyone disagree?

No argument here. I still think he's at least in the top 3 of all heavyweights.

Hmmmm...I almost want to argue for Virgil Hill, but Holyfield would have cleaned his clock real good. Virgil Hill was seeming unbeatable until he fought Hearns. Maybe Byrd or Moorer could have been if they stayed at lower weights....

Maybe Roy Jones at Cruiserweight could challenge him but Qawi vs Holyfield is one of my favorite fights of all time each guy threw combined over 100 punches a round.

Cruiserwieght is the "Red Headed Stepchild" of the boxing divisions. Nobody wants to make their career at cruiserweight if theres any chance of being heavyweight. Cruiserweight should be combined with light heavy. Keep heavyweight the same.

You really can't combine the light heavyweight division and cruiserweight because it would make guys who can't make the supermiddleweight limit of 168 pounds fight guys who weigh 200 pounds, Imagine being able to make 169 at your lightest and having to compete in a division that has a limit of 200? Kind of a big difference there. The reason the cruiserweight division is around because too many guys who weighed 180 pounds back in the late 1970s early 1980s were having to fight at heavyweight against guys like Holmes, Shavers, Page who outweighed them by 30-50 pounds.

I definitely agree that Holyfield is the best cruiserweight ever ..... but there is not a lot of history or pedigree to look back on.

If we want to rewrite history, I would say that Ezzard Charles was the best cruiserweight ever.

What makes you sure he would beat Commander Vander? Cruiser Holy had it all, speed, power, Great Boxing Skill and more than respectable defense... Not to mention he was a machine and possesed the biggest heart to ever step through the ropes to go with a superhuman concrete chin

Of guys who actually fought at cruiser (so no Charles or Marciano) Holyfield is the greatest.

Holyfied is the best cruiserweight of all time but would he have beaten Ezzard Charles or Rocky Marciano? They would be great fights but Holyfield was like a machine at the weight, but my opinion is that he would beat Charles but not Rocky, but the heavyweight version of Holyfield would have.
