Off to Canada - anyone give me rough idea of beer prices

We have anyone from Canada ?

Off next Friday for 17 days

Fly to Calgary and drive Rockies for 8 days - Jasper, Banff (spelling ?) Lake Louise and all that (can't remember exact itenary) and then onto Vancouver and Vancouver Island to some place called Telegraph Cove to fight bears and killer whales. It also happens to be when England are playing Russia and I have a bad feeling I won't get to see it in that remote place.

So anyone got any idea of what I am looking at price wise for drinking and eating out (every night) Won't be getting pissed every night obviously. I know the US is cheap at moment but is it same in Canada ?

You'll have a great time.

The prices vary - just like in the UK - but in Calgary you're looking at about a quid fifty per pint and then slightly less in the sticks. If you go to a resort bar you'll be paying more.

Vancouver is more expensive but its a gorgeous town. get your arse down to Robson street.

Eating out is cheap as chips. Main courses are usually around 5 quid.

Remember to tip. 15% minimum for meals and the same for drinks although sometimes more.

You can eat and drink a lot cheaper if you want to but the places are usually pony.

When you stop to get petrol grab any of the free booklets by the door of the petrol station. They have great specials on hotels and restaurant and resorts. They've saved me a lot of money on road trips.

Toronto and Vancouver are like London. Dead expensive. The others places won't be too bad.

It will be much cheaper to buy clothes there, Mark. Trust me on that one. Don't pack too much and hit the shops when you get to Calgary
