That was pretty bad. De Leon just looked so much bigger. Bautista was completely out of his league.
it was a match that was goingto end fast one way or the other. you could tell that from the gate.Originally Posted by Violent Demise

Ponce did what he should do. Destroy the young talent before he grows into a beast.
I think all of the pressure got to Rey as a 21 year old I can't remember anybody going into a fight with so much pressure and against one of the hardest hitter in the division. The pressure just made him much weaker physically coming into that fight and now the knock out lost is making him mentally weak.
I hope ponce rematches with caballero and knocks him out.
one of those announcer was Nonito Donaire. that lady there is the same lady that I watch interview Ponce before the fight, thats when Ponce said he underestimated gerry in their fight so he only rested a week after that fight then went right back into the gym to train for boomboom. thats when I first saw the new hair cut of ponce too hehe
Seeing rey get stop is sad, the baby of the philippines you can almost feel the dissapointment. I hope he man up to this lost and comes back with vengences.
I know sometimes in boxing you have to take your chance at a world title shot as anything could happen. However I remember after Boom Boom's last fight the general consensus was that he was not ready. That is what we actually saw. If Boom boom was expected to win then I think the loss would have been harder to take but in my eyes he deserves credit for taking the fight. What he should now do is go back, regroup and come again. He should not quit after one loss.
Tip of the month: Protect yourselves at all times. You never know when the scheming bitch will come back for more.
Darchinyan v Donaire comes to mind when talking about the pressure and power. Only in this case it worked out for Donaire. Imagine fighting a guy that just beat up your brother, now there is pressure.Originally Posted by Julius Rain
Actually Nonito and his brother stated they were not at all pressured because they were confident Nonito would knock him out. It was actually an advantage for nonitos brother to have already fought vic. Unlike boomboom, the pressure of going for the sweep in a world cup, the pressure of bringing back home the title for his people, the pressure of fighting for his first title at the age of 21 now that is not comparable to Nonito vs Vic whatsoever.Originally Posted by slk123

I don't care what the Donaire brothers said, it still had to weigh on his mind. I only meant to add another fight to the "pressure" discussion, not create a debate.
You could tell the winner before the first bell...Look at De Leon entering the RING, then look at bautista. Note how loose and at ease De Leon looked n the nervous look of anxiety on Bautistas face. This fight was done deal before the first bell.

Boom Boom will be back better than ever.
Bautista showed he was a bit fragile last time.
Last thing you need to be going in with a sicko puncher like Ponce.
