    Default RIP Lee Gostolo

We all love boxing on this site and everyone of us has hero's and villains.

The guy below is one of the unsung hero's and his death at 42 is a tragedy for his family and a loss for the rest of us... People like Lee are the bread and butter 'behind the scenes' folk that keep our sport alive.

We all like to talk about this fighter v that fighter etc etc but its guys like him who make these things happen.

Big respect to Gostolo and his family...

    Loss To British Boxing
By Clive Bernath: I was very much saddened to hear that Sheffield based whip and Sky tv team member Lee Gostolo passed away at his home on Monday at the age of just 42, following a short illness .

Lee, who was recently diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer, worked for many promoters over the years and really was one of the genuinely nice guys in the sport. I do not profess to have known Lee very well at all but can remember liaising with him on many Fight Academy shows over the years, mainly when I worked as a statistician for the BBC. Lee was always very professional and nothing was ever too much trouble for him. I had not seen Lee for at least a good couple of years but always remembered him because he was so professional, friendly and approachable.

Lee leaves a wife and seven year-old son and British boxing will be poorer for their loss.
