I know, some of you guys may make objections to this, but it is the natural thing to do after the Cotto Mosley fight. Mayweather v Cotto. What are your thoughts on the fight? Who wins? Can it be made?Does Miguel stand a chance? Are you even interested in the fight? If this thread has been done, then Mods please delete it. Otherwise, let me know your thoughts my fellow Saddoneans!

I know, and I feel slightly disrespectful towards Hatton for making this thread. I give him a good chance of making it a close fight with Mayweather but in no way, shape or form,do I see him winning(even though I'd actually like to see him win). Cotto-Hatton would be a war...until Ricky gets KTFO in the 10th round.

i would much rather see hatton v cotto. mayweather can fight mosley after hatton drops him.

After being so "sure" about Mosley beating Cotto, I wonder how "sure" I am about Floyd beating Ricky. But in respect to Gamo's thread about Cotto/Mayweather, I'll say this. I'm not betting against Cotto again. Floyd can outpoint Cotto but he will be running all night. Cotto's slicker and more clever than I thought and no one walks through him, k.o. or points wise. Floyd's going to have to et physical with this kat and I don't think Floyd can take too many physical encounters with Cotto, so his boxing skills will have to be very sharp indeed if they meet. I never thought I would bet against Floyd in this WW division, but Cotto has risen to each occasion, as has Floyd. I don't know.

I think floyd isn't even the best welterweight; cotto, mosley, margarito and even paul williams can out gun him. Floyd has a hell of a lot of possible fights in the future. Hopefully he does not bitch out and retire. Hatton is the safest fight for floyd if you do the math. Thats why floyd is fighting hatton. When floyd does beat hatton, floyd has no choice but to fight any of the top four welterweights. IF not then he needs to really retire and step off of the way of cotto. Yes right now I think cotto is the best welterweight! now that he has beated mosley. Cotto just keeps on trucking, getting better and stronger. He'll be pound for pound best sooner or later.

Hatton is not physically strong enough for Cotto, Hattons strenghts in the ring would be taken away from him agaisnt Cotto, it would be a good fight i feel similar to Marquez-Vasquez 2, in that they both throwing bombs until the physically stronger guy is just to strong and takes him out (Cotto taking Hatton out)

Mayweather Cotto, i think Mayweather wins like7-5 or 8-4, with him on the back foot most of the fight.

It is very clear that not HAtton or PBF are a walk in the park. Then there is Cotto he is annoying as well hehe

A fight between Cotto and Hatton/Mayweather will be another tactical fight withi Floyd since he is fast and great boxing skills but he will also will buy a scooter( get in shape) to run for 12 rounds he doesn't want to be there and get hit for nothing. maybe judges will turn to score like Leaderman ( if you run you loose the round). SP (it could go either way)

Against Hatton uufff now that's a fight. two relentless SOB's and of course giving the fight to Cotto by UD since he being a very tactical rough house

personally i would not like to see that fight happen
i would much rather see a fight between Cotto/Hatton which was the fight that needed to happen a while back.
plus i would rather see Mosley/Mayweather since their styles would probably make for a better fight.
    i also wouldn't mind seeing Cotto/Margarito, Cotto/Cintron, or Cotto/Williams
but like Miguel said that he'll fight whoever his people tell him to fight so lets hope that they don't.
now if they do then no matter what i'll be rooting for my boy!!

I like that match up regardless of mayweather - hatton outcome.. mayweather is a technically brilliant instinctive . however a waste of talent you ask me, his skills could have been used to put fire back into the sport. Floyd would rather take a backwards step then finish a guy off, Floyd was a more exciting fighter at 135 that mindset he has now , makes for boring matches. hatton- Cotto would be a thriller.

I think Floyd vs Cotto is THE fight that has to be made in 2008.

Once Floyd has completed the routine formalities of dispatching Ricky Hatton he needs to step up and take the fight with Cotto,

I'm still 100% behind the pretty boy as always I reckon he'll put a beating on Cotto but it could be a great, great fight.

This will be basically Leonard vs Duran for the new millennium and I can't wait.

Hatton would be killed by a Cotto body attack, he is just too small to handle it.

Yeah if Ricky stayed at 140 and Cotto had to starve it would be closer and more interesting.

PBF skills are way different then Rays and Cotto is like Duran and PBF is not bigger then Cotto. The different with Ray verse Duran is that i think Ray was the bigger man and at Welterweight his skills as a boxer and his strength far surpass Floyd. People forget how Floyd best weight was at 135 i think it all depends on how the judges look at the fight if PBF is not active i think Cotto will take for rounds and win a UD.

Cotto would KTFO Hatton inside six and would give Mayweather his toughest battle. You need power to stop Cotto from coming, and even that might not do it, now that it's clear to the world that Cotto can fight going backwards! The more he fights the more all around skills he shows!!
