    Default Guzman = Perfection

He made my favorite fighter, Soto, look like a complete fool. And let me tell you this, Soto's going to keep being a successful fighter, he'll win another belt. I'll keep following him and he'll be around in some exciting high stakes fights. He's THAT good, but Guzman played with him. By the third round I knew it was over.

Guzman may not be able to defeat Pac or JMM, BUT I guarantee you that both fighters won't make it look THAT easy to dispose of Soto.

I though he made himself look like a fool by running the whole last round. He incredibly gifted but he clowns too much while he could be scoring points and loses rounds because of it.

Guzman looked great..especially after such a long layoff and fighting a pretty tough opponent. The clowning running etc that happened towards the end might turn off some but the rest of the fight made up for it. He hadn't fought in some time..might have been a little more winded than he would have liked and choose to cruise a bit but it was still an impressive performance especially considering how some others have looked as recently as last week after inactivity.

Agreed. Boxers with "The Gift" of defense tend to take advantage of their positions toward the end and lag behind near the finish line. But he was tired. I could see it. That's what I believe anyways. Soto's dangerous.

You bring up a good point. Off a year and fighting a champion caliber fighter like Soto, only to embarrass him in easy fashion. Something I believe Pacquiao and JMM couldn't do so as easily without getting bruised in the process.

He looked very good BUT dont mistake his showboating for effectiveness. If you watch some of the rounds he wasnt landing many punches, he was just making Soto miss. Kind of like Duran-Leonard 2. Ray didnt do anything offensively great he just made Duran miss and showboated. It was actually a very close fight before Duran quit. Dont get me wrong Guaman is extremely good but definately not perfect.

    Guzman's the shit.

    Hands down.

I aint a fan of the showboating...but you take the good with the bad...& with the Guz...it's all good!

Huge Soto fan speaking here:I totally concur, neither JMM whom I love, nor Manny, who is awesome too, could have disposed of Soto like that.No way. The dancing/running at the end was a bit pathetic but he did work hard before that. And you're totally right GYRO,Soto will still be a big player wherever he fights, because he's a dam good fighter, but Guzman was the better man that night.Considering Joan had not fought for a year,it was all the more impressive.

I don't agree with the perfect part though.

Guzman was just to good for Soto & that ain't an easy thing. Guzman's got a big future ahead. If Pacquiao signs to fight David Diaz then Joan should try for Marquez. He may not defeat either Manny or Juan but he's proved he deserves the opportunity to fight them!
