I gave Lacy one more chance to impress. and he failed to do so, getting dropped by a light hitter like Manfredo and making 10 hard rounds of work against a mediocre opponent like Manfredo suggest's he needs to hang em up 100 percent.

All that aside Lacy was never the fighter he was hyped to be , now , well hes poor , as for the TV fighter Manfredo , he is not and never will be world class. He did put up a gritty display tho.

He outhustled manfredo. His punching power took the steam out of manfredo for about 3 rounds. Manfredo did good but just took a few too many rounds off because he was drained from lacy's punches.

Truth be told Lacy looked very gunshy on that left hand tonight since that surgery, he actually looked like he wanted to use his right hand more tonight which is whay he dropped Manfredo with. But he wasn't using a jab to set it up, Jeff just looked gunshy and ring rusted. And even Dan was saying "You're letting the setting get to you and you just don't have that fire tonight" So he told Jeff the right things that made Jeff outhustle Manfredo. Jeff looked bad because he wasnt devastating but he won regardless. I want to see how he looks if he is FINALLY active again. If he fights 3 fights in 9 months then that can be a good and better gauge.

What I don't understand is why Lacy did not try and pin Manfredo to the ropes. Everyone knows that Peter is pure garbage when he is against the ropes and yet Lacy kept letting him get away. Listen,this fight was total garbage. INjured and rusty or not,Lacy just looked plain slow and timid. He was there not just to be beaten but to be beaten up and this is coming from someone who enjoys watching him fight. Manfredo is a journeymen. You get a shot at the bigtime,you give it your all. He could have won this fight on the inside,on the outside,yet as soon as he was knocked down,he was scared to fight. It was woeful viewing. Lacy STILL has no jab and still loops/arcs/clubs his right hand.

The guy comes back from one of the biggest one sided beat downs in a championship fight ever by fucking his shoulder up in the seconed round, then after a year out he does what he did last night... Sure he looked like nothing special, but look at what he has been through? Seen a load of world champions in their prime put on shit worse than that last night...

It's a come back, it takes time, time to build up belief again, to get sharp, to get smart.... you post like you never watched this sport before.

To be fair, could any fighter really recover from the mental and physical scarring from a beating like Calzaghe put on him? Thats the kind of punishment that would retire most fighters.

For sure that fight sucked. Lacy just isn't there, though he pressed the "action". Manfredo is junk, period. He looked like he wanted to go home after the knockdown, hell before the knockdown. I suppose he'll say he just got over strep throat and he wasn't himself I hope I never see that garbage fighter again. Both need to do something else, though the surgery for Lacy is at least a good excuse for Jeff.
