ok...im not saying Paul Williams is a bad fighter or anything, hes good i like him

BUT when Cintron got injured and his first defense was basically shot
he and his promoters offered Zab Judah a title shot. (i like zab hes one of my fav fighters ) WHY?

*zab turned it down because of a injury (thank god, he would of got beat)


BUT I mean my question is why did he chose to fight a big name that i believe dont really deserve a title shot YET (zab still hasto prove himself before he can get another title shot), and not fight give Antonio another shot, or Cotto, Clottery?

is he afraid of losing?lol

Cintron got hurt. Cotto just fought. As did Mosley. Clottey had a fight already set up. And Margarito seems to be waiting for Cotto. Who else is there really but Judah and Quintana?

Zab is still a name that can get PW exposure, so it would be good for him. Mosley would be a good name for Williams to take on also. Cintron is "hurt" and doesn't want any part of those top 3 guys, and he'll hide away as long as possible. Tony would like Cotto no doubt, but he would gladly fight Williams again IMO, to avenge that loss. Clottey is busy. Like VD said, why not call out Zab, big name, good money, and IMO an easy win.

Cotto went 12 hard rounds against Mosley. He would not of accepted a fight in February or March. And Williams needed to fight as soon as possible as he had been inactive for to long already

Paul Williams isn't ducking anybody. The man wanted to and called out the "most ducked" person in WW. The man will rule the ww division. Cintron is lucky he hurt his hand cause he would have more mental shite to overcome after a loss to Williams. The only person I see maybe able to stopping him is Cotto, but even that I don't think will happen

Agree. It\\\'s not like the old days when they fought on a regular basis. These days fighters need a lot more time to recover from fights

Why is Zab overrated he is as fast as anyone, he has good power, he is very dangerous early, and he has quite a bit of skill. I think his poor defensive skills however are what made him not as good as he could have been.

People always overrated Zab, he was "Pernell with power" for a while and so on. Then even after his losses it was just oh well Zab wasn't focused. You still hear that to this day, oh if Zab just got it together he'd reach his potential.

You're right on his attributes. His defense is crap considering how fast he is, how fast his reflexes are and he just mentally folds, especially if you put pressure on him and make it out of the first few rounds, he just folds up, starts throwing one shot at a time in hope that he catches somebody.

Now if you just think he's a dangerous guy then you're not overrating him, he's still a relatively dangerous guy. But if you still think he's an elite guy, or he would be a truly elite guy if he just "focused" like a lot of people still do then you're overrating him.

Granted he's not as overrated as he used to be still overrated by many.

Of course Williams is a legitimate contender. At the moment, he has to get in line behind Floyd and Cotto. If Cotto is having a difficult time trying to land the big fight against Mayweather, then it goes without saying that Williams will have a difficult time getting a fight with Floyd and Cotto.
