Why does everyone have to advertise when they reach a certain post count?

As to why we advertise, well for me it's all about the coolclicks.

That's why I'm on this thread too, I'll say 'Yay well done!' and give you a coolclick.

And then you say 'Thanks Bilbo!' and give a shiny yellow precious coolclick back and I can then run back to my little hobbit hole with it and put it in my mattress with the others
