Default Mosley - De La Hoya III

I know that they are business partners and I know that they are great friends but what is to stop this fight from being made? It seems that at this junction in their careers that it would be perfect, especially if that Hatton-De La Hoya thing doesn't work out.

Did I miss something on Shane? Did he retire? I'm watching the Cotto-Mosley fight right now and there is nothing in that fight that would make me think that Shane isn't a top fighter anymore.

Both De La Hoya and Mosley stretched thin two of the best fighters in the world and it seems logical that they would battle each other again. I personally think it would be a great match to make and would be a superfight matching big names that I would actually care about, unlike Trinidad and Roy Jones.

Yet I haven't heard anyone mention it. Just seems like this would be an in demand fight for both guys.

I think Mosley would win a third (or second) and I also think it would be a great fight.

    Thoughts?

It could happen and it would bring great exciment. I really dont think De La Hoya should waste another fight against Mayweather, I want him to fight Forresst or Winky. But yes I think this could happen, but if they were good friends, maybe not. I wouldnt fight any of my friends, the wost case scenrio being that he could die from this fight...

seriosly though loads of fighters have fought people they're close with and while this would be an exciting match it would be better at a time when they werent both coming off of loses.

haha, well fair enough if they want to fight. I just thinks its wrong if you show a lot of respect for somebody and then trade bombs with them, just my opinion on it.

You really think that Mosley has anyone else out there that he can fight that would warrant De La Hoya stepping aside?

It's not a fight I've heard about being made, just one I think should be made if nothing else.

Who did Oscar stretch thin? If you meant Mayweather then your one something because Mayweather was not having troubles with Oscar. winning 116-112, and that being very generous to Oscar and Mayweather landing 80 more shots is not a close fight. Cotto-Mosley however was a close fight, but I think that Oscar is better than Mosley at this point of their career especially at 154. I think Mosley would do ok and Oscar wouldn't blow him out, but it would be like the second fight only Oscar would outbox him more.

Exactly bro......what's the point ?Not so much Mosley,Your only as good as your last fight to some.He was nip and tuck with Cotto,Hell yeh he can bank that for another shot at stacked welter Division.(Forget Williams though ) What in the world does he actually gain by a win.....#3..... over not so hot or viable Hoya now.Oscar is a cash cow but the blurring of the lines in Promotion vs.actual fighting is tired. It's almost ludicrous for Shane to limit himself to going backwards ,screams of "cash me out" like he and DeLaHoya were both on a hot slot machine in Vegas . Like ya said......just my thoughts.

Now this is a fight I can really enjoy to watch they can even do it at a catch weight something like 150lb and will let people think how the Cotto- Mayweather fight will be like. since these 2 lost to both in very close fights.
That's the only good Oscar can do to the sport or fight Cotto at 147

Oscar said he will never fight Mosley again but then again he said hed never fight Vargas . If the moneys there anything is possible .I dont see Oscar winning though ,. Everytime theyve met Shane got the better of him . Hes just got his number . He'd beat him 10 times out of ten IMO .

Oscar is fighting 3 times this year:Most likely Forbes in May,Floyd in Sept and someone in Dec?Shane?I don't really have that great an interest in the fight if I'm honest. I want to see the younger fighters go at it now.
