Hatton hates Junior witter, why would you give somebody you hate alot of money when you really have nothing to gain in any way whatsoever. If hatton won everyone in the uk will say "oh it was only junior witter" and everyone in the us will say "who is junior witter?". Hatton has spent his whole career getting to where he is now, he just fought the best fighter on the planet and theres no way hes gonna let witter in to his story and raise his profile (and bank balance) by giving him a shot unless he completely has to.

Exactly, not giving somone a payday is the stupidest excuse in boxing history, plenty of people get in the ring with guys they hate. Hatton says Witter badmouths him, well the best way to shut him up is beat him up in the ring.

There is a high risk in fighting Witter, but more reward in winning than fighting any other guy from Junior Wellter or below.

The reason he isn't fighting him yet is perfectly simple.

At the moment Witter is only really known by hardcore boxing fans, even in the UK.

In March he is fighting on HBO. If he impresses he will most likely fight Malignaggi. If he impresses again. he will get his shot.

Hatton has just fought the best fighter on the planet and the payday he recieved was out of this world. So basically his next high risk fight will have to be a super fight again....one that will earn him a lot of money.

If Witter keeps impressing on HBO, The showdown with Hatton becomes a super-fight, especially in the UK. Hatton's camp are smart enought to realise that the longer this simmers, the more lucrative it becomes....especially seen as tho both these guys can clear up at 140 between them.

That's all he is waiting for. He will fight Witter.....but probably not until next year.

Basically it's the same as what Mayweather did to Hatton.

Ive gone with to much risk also Hatton is so far up his own arse he thinks because he has won 4 world titles only 1 coming against a top fighter and the fact he has fought Mayweather he thinks he is to good for Witter.Hatton's excuses dont even hold water saying stuff like i dont want to give him his biggest payday when Witter has already said he will take a small purse for the fight.Hatton is 43-1 and has built himself a good reputation but he could spoil that by not fighting Witter both Hatton fans and none Hatton fans want to see this fight. Ricky stop fucking about and make the fight we need to get this across to Hatton that his fans want this fight.

People keep saying about how Hatton fought Mayweather, Tszyu, so why would he be scared of fighting Witter ?? its simple folks because Hatton had nothing to lose fighting Mayweather, Tszyu. He has everything to lose fighting Witter, Hatton would never get over losing to his bitter rival and etc. Hatton fans argue that Witter isn't that much of a name at the moment, well i will return that question back to the Hatton fans and say what name did the virtually unknowns Collazo, Urango, have ?? and why was Hatton considering fighting Rees then ?? face it everyone knows Witter is 2nd or 3rd best Jr Welterweight in the world, Witter is now fighting Hopkins in USA so if Witter does a good job on Hopkins then what will Hatton's excuse be ?? sorry but i think this is BS. Witter deserves his shot vs Hatton its a fight the fans want to see, who else can Hatton fight ?? Paulie ?? Paulie did not impress in his last fight and got a highly controversial decision, so i doubt Paulie will take a fight vs Hatton, Rees ?? Torres ?? both of these guys are even less of a name than Witter is, Witter is the most dangerous fight for Hatton at Jr Welterweight, Hatton knows it so do most of the fans, he knows he has everything to lose against Witter so he will try and avoid the fight as long as possible, and will hope that Witter loses to one of other top Jr Welterweights.

Frankly I don't care if he wants to fight him or not. After Hatton lossed to Mayweather this fight became inevitable. It will happen sooner or later as long as Witter does not lose.

I wouldnt mind seeing Hatton against Witter. Im most curious to see how Hatton rebounds off of the Floyd fight. I really hope Ricky bounces back (to use an Alan Partridge-ism) and does so against credible opposition.

I think it's a mixture of the first two. I really belive for whatever reason hatton is not completely confident that he can beat witter. I think he would like nothing more than to shut witter up and whoop his ass but the possiblitlty of that not happening no matter how small is too much for hatton to risk. Risk vs reward is my guess.

simply its due to the fact that Witter is quick and has an akward style which will cause Hatton all kinds of trouble and if Hatton were to lose hes finished. Where could he go after losing to an average champion?
