Now we don't only see it printed and we get to really see him telling floyd to be a man. Even Cintron got in a lick although he has just a little bit of credibility.

This is great stuff and now all you guys that say that we're getting ahead of ourselves because Cotto probably doesn't even want the fight can see for yourselves.

Two things that I hate to admit:

1- F.M.J. is a phenom that we shall not see the likes of for a long time to come.

2- I actually got to like Hatton as an individual prior to his beat-down at the hands
of Mayweather.

4- Cotto should be careful what he asks for: No way in hell he beats Mayweather.

These people are a little slow. Bush had me fooled the first time he ran for President but I will be damned if I fell for his bullshiet again in the 2nd election. It took some people nearly 8 years to realize they were wrong about Bush and they can't wait to see him gone like the wind.
Soon, these people too, will realize that Floyd is a FRAUD like Bush.

I ain't a Floyd fan but I still think he beats Cotto! I think it will be an extremely tough but very exciting fight.

What's wrong with Floyd making some easy money with the WWE? Plus it makes him more of a crossover mainstream star, which at the end of the day is good for boxing IMO.

Who cares if Cotto has a better record at 147 than Floyd? Floyds got the better overall record. Cotto started at 140. Floyd started at 130, 4 divisions below 147. Floyd has fought 6 current or former Ring magazine champions & 3 #1 rated fighters. Cotto's only faced 1 ring champion & never faced a #1 ranked guy. The difference in opposition is huge.

In saying all that I hope that once Mayweather is done dealing with future hall of famer DLH again & Cotto takes care of Gomez & possibly Mayorga that the fight is made so we can all put the questions to bed!

I love Cotto and I think Floyd beats him but that's besides the point totally. It's a fight that makes sense,number 1 v 2 at WW. And it's not like Mayweather v Baldo/Zab/Gatti/Mitchell/Brusseles/(insert name here), because although Mayweather would be favourite,it would be a fight in which non-Cotto fans would even give Cotto a good chance of winning.

For the Oscar and Ricky fights,as much as I credit Floyd for the wins(he looked good in both fights imo), they were NOT legit WW and aside from those fighters respective hardcore fans, not many were giving them a chance(and rightfully so,neither has done anything of note at WW/not done anything in yaers).

I've never heard Miguel open his mouth before,he must be confident but I'd rather he just focussed on Gomez first.

I don't think Floyd's heart is in the sport anymore. To me, he does not seem willing to take any more real risks. Everyone keeps saying, well wait for him to fight Cotto in 2009, but I don't see that fight ever taking place.

Floyd is on his retirement tour and just wants to cash out at this point without risk (just like Oscar). With guys like Cotto on the rise, he just looks at them as too risky. It is not really about money in my book, but money demands is the easiest way to back out of the potential matchup.

From his interview with Merchant after beating Hatton, you could read his intentions under the surface. Lets face it, Floyd is not getting any younger, fights sporadically and is vulnerable right now. All the talent in the world is not always enough when you have a guy facing you who is willing to go through all stops to beat you. It is all about hunger folks.

Good question. I am not really sure but maybe they just want to give him an easy ride for a fight after coming off a tough one. It could also be due to politics as many would say yeah they want a piece of him, but then price themselves out of range. Cotto is one nasty mother in the ring, and handlers would likely protect their fighter by choosing a less catastrophic career path as their are other belts to grab.

This is a stay busy fight for him. As long as he takes it seriously, and considers Gomez a threat, that is all it will be.
