Default Donaires not keen on fighting Pinoy boxers

Sun.Star Cebu - Donaires not keen on fighting Pinoy boxers

I have to disagree with the Donaires on their view of patriotism. If they want to be considered the best out there, then imo, they should fight anyone that gets in their way just like the Mexican, Puerto Rican, or any boxing powerhouse nationals do.

He wont have to worry because "Archie" is gonna kick both their asses, so what if he ever wins a belt, he'll drop the belt if his mandatory is filipino? Mexicans and Americans couldn't do that because there wouldnt be many options out there....thats like taking away half the field of competition.

Definitely different. Nationalistic Pride differs from country to country. First time I have seen a boxer refuse to fight a fellow countryman for that reason though. He is only limiting his own options there.

I can understand the Donaires. It's like asking Manny Pacquaio to fight against Bobby Pacquaio.
