Default Hatton Smashes Uk Ticket Sales Record In Two Days!!!!

His father, Ray, who is the champion's manager, added: "Word is we could have sold another 25,000 such was the demand. All records for fights in this country are now shattered."................................

Hattons appeal is tremendous but it's sad for true boxing fans.

What is the attraction of this fight.. apart from wanting to see Hatton beat the fuck out of someone?

Wait till Team Hatton and Sky start selling Lazcano as a dangerous tough Mexican

Its sad that the only outcome that makes this worth paying for is a Hatton loss.

Why any mug would pay to that fight is beyond me. It will be over in five rounds. Rubbish fight.

I won't be buying the PPV. It's a bit sad really that this the fight his loyal fans gets to see, especially if he intends to fight Paulie in the states next. Maybe he'll like the atmosphere enough to fight home again next.

I'm really pissed off they (team hatton) have gone down this road and chosen Lazcano as his homecoming opponent.
Hatton could have (and should have imo) gone after Witter or Cotto this year and really cemented his legacy like he said he wanted to.
At first i thought it was just a mere money making scheme when i heard Lazcano's name but if that was entirely the case then they would have chosen Wembley Stadium so i'm totally baffled.
I think sadly we've seen the best of Hatton and just don't see where this takes him that will really excite the true pugilists.........!!

I think some experts, guys in the know, predicted they wouldn't get such a good sell for a no-name fight like Lazcano.. I thought it was pretty clear from the Mayweather fight the majority of Hatton's fans are fans of him not particularly boxing fans.

If it was "free" TV it wouldn't be so bad, bearing in mind it could have a decent undercard, but PPV is taking the piss.

Although i disapprove of this after he wins and takes on better names it will all be forgotten...I mean Joe c got away with Sakia Bika and then Manfredo after his break through win over lacy and now all's forgotten thanks to the Kessler win..same situation here, once it's all done and dusted noone will care.

It's very different to the Calzaghe situation (although they were shit fights too, especially Manfredo).

    1) Both those fights were on terrestrial TV. Hattons shitfest is PPV

    2) Calzaghe never had a long-standing BRIT rival rated 2nd best fighter in his division to conveniently dodge with a plethora of pathetic excuses

Lazcano is a perfectly reasonable opponent for someone coming off a big loss. And if so many people are willing to pay see it, so what? The 50-odd thousand that show up at Eastlands will have a rare old time of it. The ticket prices are low and the PPV is how much, about £20? What the hell are you going to buy with your spare £20? A taxi fare? A pizza and crappy bottle of wine?

And since when did a fight being over in five rounds make it a rubbish fight? Hearns-Hagler, over in three, what a load of rubbish that was!

It's all very well for 'true boxing fans' to wail and gnash their teeth about Hatton's career path, but unfortunately there are only about 200 of you in the entire world, not enough to keep the sport going. So be grateful to us mugs who do buy into events that may not always feature two stellar names, both at the peak of their powers, in a 50-50 showdown, because we keep the machine oiled.

Agreed and I thought Joe vs Manfreddo at Cardiff was bad enough but this tops it .

Its a shame that legit world title fights cant pull half this crowd but I suppose its a sign of the times .
