    Default Pre fight horse shit

    MEMO TO CALZAGHE AND HOPKINS:-

We all know your fight is going to be a steaming pile of shit (Hopkins fault) so why don't you just button it?

I'm sick hearing all this total horse shit. Don't tell us your going to do this, your going to do that - your both full of shit.

I'll tell you what's going to happen - Joe is going to use his superior speed and stamina to eke out a decision.

There will be no knockout, and very little fireworks - thank christ it's not PPV.

    END OF FUCKING STORY

Patience. You're right, this fight is predictable. I'm also getting tired with the trash talks and hypes between these two fighters. But the fight is almost there and the best thing about it is.. it's FREE!

I don't mind trash talk if it is backed up.

With Hopkins I'm always drawn to the second Jermain Taylor fight. In the lead up he kept going on about how he wasn't going to leave it in the hands of the judges blah blah blah. The result? A fight even more boring than their first (and that is saying something).

    "Are you willing to die?"

Uh, how exactly Bernard? I've got more chance of contracting terminal cancer in the ring than you killing me...

It's hard to be the executioner on 10 punches a round.

I just want the fight to get underway now. Im bored with Hopkins meandering monologues about overcoming the odds.

This isnt going to be a toe to toe classic because Hopkins will try to spoil. It could be very interesting watching just how Calzaghe dismantles Hopkins though.

I think it might be a bit of a chess match in the first half of the fight and Calzaghe outworking BH in the last third or so.

It does not have to be a toe to toe slugfeast to be a good fight though.

If Guys like Archie Moore, Sugar Ray Robinson, Sugar Ray Leonard and Muhammad Ali abandoned their tactics and gameplans in every fight, they would not be viewed as great.

They employed tactics that allowed them to overcome the fighters in front of them.
Hopkins, with these fighters in mind, will attempt to employ any tactics necessary to beat Calzaghe.

This may result in a great fight, but not in the commonly perceived context.
A great fight for me is where one fighter overcomes another equal or greater foe, using intelligence, guile and strategy along with his physical abilities.

This fight excites me for that reason.

I agree with you completely. It has been a long time since Hopkins destroyed anyone.

Well that might be true, but Calzaghe has come into his best in the last 4 years. He was a lot more careless and less skilled before that.

In turn Hopkins has matured into a great fighter, far from his young gunslinging days.

So this time may be the best to see the two against each other as a spectacle.

Taking into account Hopkins' hard head, Calzaghe's hands, Calzaghe's speed and Hopkins' age, there's a myriad of possible storylines that we could see.
(Another storyline is of course a lullaby of a fight.)
