    Default Bad News for American Heavyweight Boxing

    On Tuesday night the United States officially failed to qualify a super heavyweight for this summer's Beijing Olympic Games.

    The U.S. will take an incomplete squad of nine boxers to China.

    Well , dont worry Lance , we in P.R. have 5 good boxers that qualified for the Olympics Games , i hope that Carlos Negron who fight in LHW 180 pnd. could represent in the name of P.R. and U.S. and beat those ass in that Games , Negron is a good Kid , Jonathan Gonzalez who fight in JWW 140 pnd. , Jorge Pedraza who fight in JLW 130 pnd. and McWilliams brothers 112 pnd. and 119 pnd...........

    I hope that those Kids could get a Gold Medals......

    ...they're all playing other sports these days, basketball, football. Boxing doesn't have the attraction to the big guys it once did.

    Very true...Almost embarrassingly enough one of my fighters was at the training camp as an alternate in the SHW division....But your point was a very good one...

    He actually just agreed to go after Kimdo Bethal the original choice could not make it and he has no intentions on pursuing a pro career...He is 18 and plays Football...Though he loves Boxing more Football will pay his way to college...And for young guys thoday it is more important to go with what will help get you through schooliong rather then what you love to do....

    Very true. The 76 olympic boxing was on prime time tv. Now it's relegated to cnbc at like 3 a.m. But, hey, wouldn't you just rather watch synchronized swimming anyway?

    Michael Hunter was the one eliminated and to bad, he was a good story. Big tall guy with only 25 amateur fights and he won a national title. But this isn't a huge surprise to me imo although I thought his spot was already secured.
