    Default Calzaghes Last Chapter!!

so what do you guys think,,

its rumoured he will fight beyond once more, but i cant see it
i think he should stick to his plan and go out on top
i can only see 3 real opponents for him now

    1.RJJ
    2.TARVER
    3.PAVLIK

personally i think he should relinquish the belts at SMW,leave that to the new breed, kessler, pavlik, froch, bute etc hes nothing to prove there anymore,if he fights roy and wins (which i think he will probably do) especially in wales,it will be the old roy was past it routine and will probably do nothing for his legacy in some peoples eyes,

so for me its tarver(controversial)simply because tarver seems to be more on form and still a serious player,i think joe would beat him and in doing so would unify the LHW aswell as the SM,now that would be a swansong to a great fighters career,

    and please stay retired joe.

Lol, well in this you are correct. Hopkins is done.

As much as I am not a huge Calzaghe fan, I just don't want him to step into the ring and get unexpectedly sparked an blemish his record he's fought so hard for...

If he beat RJJ- People will say RJJ is old.
If he beats Tarver- Tarver was past his prime
If he beats Pavlik- He beat a middleweight(Of course this win would have the most credibility being Pavlik is in his prime and also the undisputed MW champion)

Basically what I'm saying is I don't think there's anything Joe can do at this point to solidify anything... He's where he's gonna be and he needs to be OK with that... Otherwise he could damage what he's spent so much time building...

I actually see him beating all of them though I think Pavlik Calzaghe would be an intrigueing fight... Pavlik can crack... He'd have a good chance of really testing that jaw that's been so sturdy...

I still see Joe outworking my man.

retire as an undisputed champ at super middleweight, the most respectable and most fitting way for calzaghe to end it all now.

As said the showhorse fighters he could take on are now past their prime and not worth the time and effort. Hopkins was a good fight to take because he now has that big american star on his CV but jones jr/tarver - 2 fights that would be completely wasted on us big JC fans.

Dawson at the MGM and then one last hurrah against pavlik

go out on the top of tree and stamp your place in the history books!!

IMO Joe can beat any of the three if he fights them now...Pavlik would be the biggest test and closest fight...Kelly is never to be counted out just for his punching power alone...

Tarver would crumble to the work rate...He has slowed a lot...Jones is almost punch shy...In the Trinidad fight it was not until he was sure Tito could not hurt him before he started to perform....IMO anyone on the list could close out his career perfectly...anyone at SMW right now would do nothing to add to his legacy
