Unfortunately I lost a 27-23 decision, but I'm interested to hear what you people think about it. I'm the slow starting guy in orange/blue.

Thanks mate. He landed a right hand after 5 seconds that made me look like the picture below (the eye isn't closed, I did that so the minor shiner would be visible), so everything was in autopilot. The ref took a look at me in round two because my face started to look like shit. I'm not unhappy with it despite the loss thanks to all the kind words I've received.

you did pretty damn good. you really made his long ass reach a minimal factor in this bout. which i think is one of my biggest weaknesses. So i envy anyone that can get on the inside with lanky guys. You worked him with the that double jab good. Near the end you threw two jabs to the stomach than came over the top with a right. thats showing smarts.
i think you won that fight. didnt see like he landed all that cleanly on you. but judging from the picture he prolly just roughed you up a bit in the initial onslaught at the start of the round, when he was all amped up and shit. but in terms of ring generalship and the more accurate, set up punches i think you took it.
That was a real good fight RDJ.
Dude had some serious reach advantage and came out swinging and looks like it caught you in spar mode a bit. You didn't falter at all from it and were composed throughout, and negated that reach and worked well making good shots land. Like how you were connecting with the left and setting up the right and scoring with it. Nice composure and close fight for sure.
Good job.![]()
Thanks guys![]()
If that really was your first fight then you are a natural because there were some good boxing skills on display!![]()

Far from mate. I've boxed for a while, probably about four years, two of which were completely wasted because I was out of shape, fat, clumsy and uncoordinated. Being 28 years old when I began did not help either. I've worked my ass off, nothing came natural to me.
Competing was never my goal, but things went okay in sparring so last September or so I said fuck it, let's give it a try. I'm 32 years old, so it's basically now or never.
Thanks for the compliment though![]()
Not bad at all, you did very well for your first fight, and you will giving as much as you were receiving. You threw a couple good overhand rights near the end of the second round that caught your opponent flush with, which was nice.
Ok first off,for your first fight, you did more then fine, you looked pretty good.
Now on to the constructive criticism.
Youve allready caught one yourself, you need to start alot faster then you did.
You dont even try to slip punches, you also never fient coming with your own punches, make them shoulders shimmy a bit more.
Do you notice, you allways, and I do mean allways circle to the left, your making it easy for your opponent to figure out where your going, and to be waiting for you when you get there.
Dont leave the jab hanging out there, you did several times and you paid for it.
Why are you trying to jab away, when you have the shorter range, get in his grill and stay there.
None of this is meant to denigrate a fine first time out of the gate, just hoping to help so you have a better second time out of the gate.
Thank you.
Indeed. He took me completely by surprise, that won't happen a second time.
I slip a lot in training, but I was so stiff I completely forgot about it. Near the end of round three I'm starting to make some efforts in that regard.
Good point. I need more lateral movement period, when under pressure I went back in straight lines as well.
Agreed.
I think the double jab worked pretty well. You think I should not jab? I was hesitant to stay close because I got tired and respected his power too much, in hindsight looking at the video I was stronger than him and should have went after him. Too bad I did not realize that in the ring.
Not taken as such, I appreciate all criticism as it will hopefully lead to improvement.

I could tell that you had done a bit by the way you were boxing.
For example this is a video of my 2nd fight taken 15 years ago.You can see how raw and unskilled we both are compaired to you.

You did a very good job, if this was a Pro scored fight I think you would have won because I think you won every round. The first 30 seconds didn't go your way, but you composed yourself, kept cool, and you controlled the action with your jab and you showed pretty good defense. Not bad very good job.
