    Default End of an era....

Nothing too major, but its the end of an era for me.
For the past year and 2 months I've been working as a Quantity Surveyor.
Today is my last day before I head on a brief holiday and then back to college.

Working here I've been on Saddo's everyday, I've trained nearly every day and I'vehad a productive year.
Granted - my boss is a chimp, but its been fun and I've learned a load.
This time at work also saw me produce 10,000 Saddo posts, not bad really!

Headin to lunch at 1 with the QS boss and two others.
Years been quick and its goin to be a severe culture shock heading back to college in stab city

Oh well at least I've got the laptop to make sure I stay on Saddo's!

A Quantity Surveyor has multiple functions.
Cost Estimation, Cost Forecasting, Management, Construction Management, Tendering, Interim Valuations and Certification, Final Accounting......Everything financial that has to do with Construction.

In America they use several guys to do the job, here its one individula so I get to go from a construction projects inception to its completion and beyond....pretty cool.

It's going to be weird in college though.
the reason IO noted it here was because when I got the job and my exams I noted it on Saddoi's too, so I rteally can "feel" the year that has passed.....weird!!!!

Good luck in college Alan. I've started my final year at A-Level this week. It will also be my final in education as I'm not going to Uni. Big year for me. Afterwards I'm taking a gap year and spending 3 of those months in Perth.

Good luck Donny a change is as good as a rest they say.

JT, did I read that right that you lost your job?

Man you seem to be having a bad year if that's the case, with splitting from your girl, a new job and losing your best friend.

Sorry to hear about all your shit man, hope 2009 is better for you

Nice one mate i hope everything works out for you i still can't find a job i haven't got no qualifications because i left school at 16 and i need to really find a job with my extra responabilities but its been hard this year to cope because its been such a good year and then when its been bad its been bad............

I lost motivation since my dad passed away but coming on here helps me trying to get through it and i just think to myself theres always someone worse off than you so if they can get through it so can you but i hope next year when i become father it will be the start of a new life and a better life and sorry to hear about your problems aswell JT sounds like its been a rocky year for you i hope next year things get better for you bro.
