Has anyone ever had Red Stripe beer?

It's Jamaican, and every time I go and buy my Newcastle Brown I pass it in the imports isle. I've never heard anything but 3rd hand information about it, has anyone ever had it and is it any good?

Trust your instincts chief used to frequent Alot ,a few Red stripes and hold it in high regard.Worlds apart from New Castle though,I had New Castle for the first time a few months ago and I swear it taste like a hybrid od Iced Tea ??

Newcatle brown ale is my favorite beer. I'd literally kill for it. Well,. maybe not literally.

well it has a pretty good rep over where i was at in the states. but i really didn't like it much. i mean its kind of bitter tasting to me. I found that a lot of beers from china are pretty good. cant wait to start drinking some of those. back to the topic, its not to bad but a little bitter for me. 6 out of 10. hope that helps some.


*quick thought* just try it, you can't go wrong with beer i think.
although IPA (India pale ale) is the worst beer i ever tasted. horrible!!

Used to drink it in clubs around 10 years ago and loved it.

One time we were at a school late at night and there was some other people there who thought we were the cops. Anyways I traded them a 12 pack of Natty Ice for a 6 pack of Red Stripe and an MGD 36 oz. It was a great trade as Natty ice sucks. It's ok beer, I'm not that high on beer in general but it is pretty good.

To me it really depends on my mood if I want something real smooth and I"m just hanging out or out to dinner then I would stick with the New Castle that stuff is good.
The only way I would pick a Red Stripe over a New Castle is on a really hot day. Red Stripe tastes really good when its super super cold. Its refreshing on a hot day. To me anyway.

Yes, here in Canada we try to only drink good beer.

If you're ever on the West Coast ask for a Lucky Lager, it's the worst horse piss-tasting swill around. It's cheap redneck beer and it's one of the more popular brands.
