Default Should Ricky Hatton have been thrown in the mix earlier

Was Hatton given a title shot to late in his career by Frank Warren ? Always felt that he could have had championship matches against the likes of Judah and Cotto way before the Tsysu fight was made ?

And if hatton hadnt of had those tussles with phillips, tackie etc would he of been able to take Tszyu to war like he did??

I remember a few post-fight interviews towards the end of Hatton's association with Frank Warren where Hatton was clearly pissed off with the lack of movement in his career, the wide-boy was always stop next to him with a bag full of excuses.

    I remember those as well

Hatton would plead with the bigger names to get in with him while warren seemed more than happy to play the whole "learning curve" routine while raking in the dough selling out arenas all over britain for no risk fights!!

Yes it took way too long for Ricky Hatton to get a title shot, he should of fought Sharmba Mitchell, after the Ben Tackie fight. He also should of got a fight with Arturo Gatti. He missed out on quite a few fights IMO.

I think he did fine, He would have lost worse to Mayweather the lower the weight they fought at though, if he was the top man at 140 for awhile Mayweather would have destroyed him, Mayweather still had some semblance of his speed at 135 and 130. He really had to bulk up for WW which is why I think people are out of their minds thinking Mayweather had any advantage at WW against Ricky. All in all Mayweather threw more punches at light welterweight, much quicker feet, much better combinations. I think Hatton would have met his demise maybe even earlier had he started sooner.

No he had Kostya's number, and I also think he would have given a weight drained Cotto more than he could handle. I don't see Cotto handling Hatton's power or speed in the last few fights he had at 140.
