Default A 24/7 for Pac Hatton?

I would personally like to see it.. I'd like to see Roach's comments on Hatton. He had Oscar's number and he knew it long before the bout.. But surely fighting a relatively prime Hatton who looked sharp as a tack against Paulie, and has chopped down some pretty tough guys...

Would also be interesting to see how Hatton's thoughts on the fight as well.. Pac is a formidable P4P #1 and would be interesting to hear his comments on Pac's speed and good in and out style.. Whether Hatton plans on trying to clinch a lot and rough him up...

I wasn't that interested in the ODLH Pac 24/7. Only bothered to watch one of them.. But yeah, i'd probably be more interested in a Hatton one...

If or when the fight happens, there would definitely be a 24/7 on it. The two fighters have way too big a fan base to not have one. Pacquiao and Hatton would just speak very highly of each other and continuously mention how this is their biggest fight. The verbal war between Mayweather Sr. and Roach would be the selling point. Mayweather doesn't know how to keep his mouth shut and Roach is beginning to be a bit of a trash talker himself.

A Pacquiao/Mayweather Jr. would have a hell of a 24/7. I've been saying it from the beginning, I'm curious to see how Manny handles the trash talking and "in your face" attitude of Floyd. I love Floyd in the ring, but his pre-fight antics really piss me off, but as much as I hate to admit it, it makes for really good TV.

I really hope not. They have completely ruined the 24/7 now with the last two turkeys.

The first couple series with Floyd were excellent because both and and his family are incredibly good viewing entertainment and the behind the scenes training footage, and the voiceover man were all new.

Now we have seen behind the scenes so that stuff no longer has the appeal of making us feel like we are getting a rare look behind the curtain so to speak.

The voiceover guy has spoken in exactly the same way and the show has worked to exactly the same formula for all series so we are not witnessing any variety. We all know exactly how these shows are going to go.

And finally aside from Floyd none of the other fighters featured have been even remotely interesting, I mean just not even a little bit.

I only watched one episode of the De La Hoya Paquaio as I simply hate watching Oscar De La Hoya talk about himself, I actually want to cry with boredem.

Manny barely speaks English so what we actually get is Freddie Roach, who is ok but really I don't want to listen to him for 4 straight episodes.

Jones and Calzahge are just anonymous in terms of personalities outside of the ring whereas Hatton with his bad jokes and unfunny quips just grates me. He's basically the little fat kid at school who tried to make everyone laugh by doing impressions of the teachers and kids just laughed politely so he'd go away.

So I really hope we don't see a 24.7 for Hatton and Manny.

Just go back to the good old Countdown show, a nice one off 40 minute special that will get us plenty pumped for the fight.

Save the 24/7 for proper megafights featuring interesting opponents.

I don't want to see it at all now until Pacqiao Mayweather, that's the only fight that's worthy.

Also I'd rather see different fighters for a change and different weight classes.

One potentially interesting show would be a big heavyweight one with Vitali Klitschko against David Haye.

The heavyweight division certainly needs a publicity boost and this fight is no doubt a sexy fight in terms of glamour and action. Plus we have David Haye who for all his unlikeable cuntedness is most definitely a genuine personality and of course we Vitali who is hands down the most intimidating and genuine heavyweight out there. We have never had a chance to really get to know Vitali outside the ring and I also think HBO should give Haye the platform he craves and enough rope to hang himself with.

    So in summation.

24/7 for Pacquaio Mayweather as its the biggest fight in boxing
24/7 (although it wont happen probably won't be on HBO anyway, Showtime most likely) for Vitali Haye as its the literally biggest fight in boxing as it features the biggest weight class. We need to rebuild interest in the heavyweight scene and watching Vitali destroy the cocky, swaggering, glamour boy David Haye would help to do that for sure. Let's saviour that and give it the treatment it deserves.

As for Hatton Manny do you really want 4 episodes of Hatton telling us that he has tremendous respect for Manny Pacquaio and that he's a huge fan but that Ricky Hatton does not back down from any challenge and that's why the fans love me so much blah blah blah, followed by Freddie Roach boring us on Manny's behalf. Fuck no, please no!

i dont know guys, i always enjoy the 24/7 shows no matter who are featured. I am with Diz on this one I would love to see pac/hatton 24/7. they do need to show more of the training side instead of pac singing, or hatton make jokes lets save that for home videos

Im 100% certain there will be a 24/7 for pac and hatton. They have the two biggiest fan following in the sports. Im still hoping this is held in Wembley. Hatton told Pac after the dela hoya fight "I'll see you in England!" Pac wants to fight there too but Arum is totally cockblocking

He does have tremedous respect for Manny though. It would be the biggest fight of his career. The fans love him because of how he is.

Yes and we all know it already so please spare us another 4 tedious shows of Hatton humour.

I find him even less funny than Harry Hill

I can imagine Floyd slipping and saying something stupid or disrespectful to philippino people or Pac family or something, and Pac would knock him out at a press conference

Bilbo's just a wet blanket in regards to the 24/7... I admit though that I don't see a point in there being any more than 1 episode... Like I said, I only ever download one of each.. They try to make it into a drama series which just isn't the case.. The are professional athletes, and if they took the best from the 4 eps and put it into one episode, with some good highlights of each fighter, then it would be much better... I never saw the countdown show so if that is like what I said, put all the drama and action into one 40 minute thing, then I think that's a better idea...

Well that's my whole point though Diz, the original Countdown To show is better in 90 percent of cases.

A good 40 minute show packed with the best drama rather than 3 or 4 dragged out tedious docs with dull personalities.

The voice over guy was superb for the first couple series of 24/7 but now his voice is just drearily predictable like the Big Brother guy we have in the UK.

It needs a layoff before the formulae becomes tired.

I miss the old Countdown show, that was ample entertainment for me.

Going behind the scenes is only special when it's unique. When we see it for every fight it just becomes mundane.

The problem is compounded when it features the same fighters over and over. If they do a 24/7 for Hatton Pacquaio that will mean in five series so far we've met only 6 boxers.

If Vitali Haye fight on HBO at least we'd have a different weight class and two totally new and contrasting personalities.

I'm a huge fan of 24/7! I think it hypes me up week per week! Not only that, but in a mainstream aspect, a lot more people are exposed to boxing. People that I never thought who were into boxing would catch one of the episodes and be like "oh wow, I wanna see the fight now."

The Countdown show is amazing as well, but I feel like there's more highlights and training to show. The one episode is just not enough for me.

24/7 is used to make the fight look more evenly matched than it really is. Floyd/Ricky was made to make Hatton look more dangerous than he really was. Calzaghe/Jones made me believe Roy had a shot at winning. De La Hoya/Pacquiao made Manny seem like such a challenge to Oscar so the fight would look more 50-50 (THAT SOOOO BACKFIRED). But you get my point.

    In summation, 24/7, I like!!

You know what Hatton/Pacquiao and Klitschko/Haye have in common?

TONS of folks think both fights will be competitive.

The 24/7's, if they are made, will be much better viewing than either fight.

I do NOT know where all this faith in David Haye comes from. I know who he is. Ive seen him fight. Wtf? Are you all longing so badly for a savior that you'll latch on to the first young hard hitting prospect you can find? THIS FIGHT WILL NOT BE COMPETETIVE.

Ricky Hatton. HUGE FAN. Love me some Ricky and I love watching and listening to him outside the ring. But against Manny?!? THIS TOO WILL NOT BE COMPETETIVE.

Im very confused at the direction boxing fans' minds are taking them.

Vitali Klitschko completely poleaxes David Haye inside 6. Haye will get you ooh'ing and aaaah'ing in the first 2 because he's fast. HE CANNOT HURT VITALI. Who can?

Vitali by vicious KO in 6.

Ricky Hatton looked awesome against Paulie Malignaggi, but who the F is Paulie Malignaggi?? Hit ENTIRE selling point is that he went the distance with Cotto without getting decimated. Ricky spanked him thoroughly but still got caught with silly shots. NO F'N WAY Ricky doesn't pay dearly for his slop against Manny.

Manny Pacquiao by brutal KO inside 7.

Be patient fellow fisticuff fans. Our saviors will come, but we mustn't force it; we have to stop making diamonds out of dogsh*t. It's more a reflection of the current state of boxing that some of these matchups are "intriguing."
