    Default Dream Match

I know this topic has come up before. I've just watch a bunch of Duran clips on youtube and I was just thinking him versus Oscar at lightweight would be an amazing bout. I think I would go with Oscar but who knows Duran could gut it out. What are some other great dream matches.

There's a few people I would have liked to see Duran up against, to see how good he really was.

Arguello at lightweight would be one, although Arguello arrived maybe a little late at lightweight for Duran Maybe Benitez at Junior Welterweight. Not sure if Benitez would have the experience at JW to beat Duran, but I'd give him a decent shot at welterweight. Also Aaron Pryor. Of course there is also Chavez, but again Chavez came along a little to late.

Pryor v Duran at 140 would have been fun to watch. Also Duran v Mosely at 135 would have been great also.

Is this even a Duran thread?

I think he loses to a prime Pernell Whitaker at Lightweight, Roberto Duran often had some troubles with boxers. And Pernell Whitaker would frustrate Roberto Duran all night, it would be close but Pernell Whitaker would win a decision IMO.

And remember Roberto Duran's workrate wouldn't bother him. Because Pernell Whitaker at Lightweight could throw 100 punches a round near enough.

Not necassarily a Duran thread. Just thinking of great fight's. To me Duran Whitaker would be a borefest. With Duran chasing and chasing and Whitaker running and running.

Another great fight would be Sandy Saddler vs Manny Pacquiao at featherweight my god man need I say more.

Tito Trinidad vs Thomas Hearns (Welter/Junior Middleweight)
Shane Mosley vs Sugar Ray Leonard (Catch weight, 143-145)
Juan Manuel Marquez vs Erik Morales (Featherweight)

I've never been into Whitaker but the things you say when you talk about him got me intrigued. I looked at a bunch of footage of him, he is sick! I've never seen anyone slip, duck, or just flat out got out of the way of punches before.

    Pernell Whitaker vs Miguel Santanta
    Pernell Whitaker vs Roger Mayweather
    Pernell Whitaker vs Greg Haugen
Pernell Whitaker vs Jose Luis Ramirez 2
    Pernell Whitaker vs Juan Nazario
    Pernell Whitaker vs Azumah Nelson
Pernell Whitaker vs Buddy McGirt 1/2

You should watch these fights if you haven't seen em. Also watch his fight with Diosbelys Hurtado, because he was nowhere near his best in that fight. But showed a champions heart to comeback.

Would have been nice if he actually had some ATGs to fight at lightweight, but I guess we'll have to stick with the "Would haves".
