    Default IF Barrera Wins....

Where will he stand in the lightweight picture? His only two losses in recent years were competitive fights with the two top p4p guys in JMM and Pacman. Will he get a lot of credit or will people just say Kahn was just not much to begin with because his chin isnt very good? I think it would be a good win for him against a good fighter and legitimate lightweight and maybe it would put him in a position for a JMM rematch, or more likely another top lightweight. Obviously, if he loses he falls in the ranks and it would be a hard and unlikely road back to the top. Whatever happens his career will change pretty drastically tommorow night imo. Win of lose he is one of the great fighters of this generation.

That what im thinking too, but JMM might go for bigger money at 140 if he can. Still, it could be a interesting reatch if Barrera looks good tommorow. Id still favor JMM reguardless.

If Barrera wins I swear I will punch holes in the roof I'll be jumping so high. I'd prefer him to retire after this if he wins. He has had too many wars and is too old to be fighting the elite guys anymore.

I think Barreras already beaten Marquez but it will be an interesting return . If Marquez does vacate and move up and dont think there can be much dispute that Barrera will be the number 1 lightweight . Its a matter of time until he is a 4 weight champion .

Ill be pulling for him. I dont see him retiring if he wins. Hell definately want Marquez. Though, it would be nice to see him retire champ.

If he wins, I'll definitely want to see a rematch with JMM.

I will rank MAB in the top 25 of Lightweights.
Beating Amir would not catapult him high IMO.

I agree, it's no huge win for Barrera, he has fought and beat some great fighters and Khan is nowhere near any of those guys. I don't think he ever can be a great fighter, but he can be a fucking exiting one.

What do you mean "if" Barrera wins.

    It should say when.

MAB is one of my all time favorites, and I think he will win. Everyone keeps mentioning Kahn's chin, but I think MAB will take him out with body shots. I think he's going to work the body alot to slow Kahn down, because Kahn is faster than MAB at this point in his career, and MAB has to take away Kahn's one big advantage.

BTW, Steve Kim wrote a good article on him today.

Please dont put him anywhere near juan manuel marquez

he managed to actually take 3-4 rounds when they fought last time out and JMM did not impress. But at 135 i would really fear that barrera could take a junior jones style battering that would all but finish him off as a fighter.

The whole talk of the winner tonight fighting marquez is ridiculous as JMM would absoloutely batter both !!

Based on their last fight where Barrera statictically outlanded outhrew and dropped Marquez. Winning in the eyes of the real experts ? hmmm . . .

I've always maintained that Barrera was given a rough deal against Marquez. The judges were way off and of course that 7th was a mess because of Nady and his ineptitude.

It's amazing that Barrera even kept his cool after what happened and got through the fight as effectively as he did. Had the KD been scored then it might all have turned out very different.

Very true that Kd and the point taken away were the deciding factors...his KD was counted as a slip and he got a point taken away for hittin JMM while down.
