So this takes Forrest out of the picture for 154. I think this is setting Abraham up for a fight with Pavlik, it stops giving Top Rank any excuse to keep avoiding the fight

This would definitely be a mismatch.....I wish they would just make Pavlik/Abraham already...

Well, I just read the other day that Forrest had finally reached an agreement with Sergio Martinez, his mandatory, for a fight in July or August.

There was a purse bid that was supposed to happen this past Friday, but got cancelled because they reached terms.

From my understanding they agreed that Forrest could only take a 10 round non-title tune-up fight.

So I don't think Forrest would take a fight in June, if he has to fight in July or August.

Unless he decides to give up his title and belt, of course.

Didn't Abraham just have a lopsided one against another jr.middle in Marquez?Needs to get it on with Pavlik,Forrest a nice enough guy but this makes no sense, and maybe even fewer dollars.

Like I said I think its Sauerland's way of getting their foot in the door in America, so that then Top Rank/Team Pavlik can't avoid them. They actually seem really keen to make the fight with Pavlik so I'm hopin that this works out because them guys need to fight

Right. And then another lopsided fight against a cherry-picked fighter who no one had ever heard of. He needs to take tougher fights. Forrest would be a step-up, however, from either of his previous fights and would increase his notoriety in the US, and would set up a fight with Pavlik.

honestly Pavlik's team seems to be the one avoiding Abraham more than the other way around

Forrest would be a nice name on Abrahams record but I think its an easy win for King Arthur!

I'm with the rest of you guys that Pavlik/ Abraham should happen sooner rather than later!

I don't mind this fight too much. Forrest is a classic fighter that still has some left in the tank, and if King Arthur beats Forrest it gives him a bigger name in the U.S. and if Pavlik beats Mora then the next fight should be Pavlik-Abraham which will hyped more and be more exciting leading up to the fight.

Forrest should fight Martinez. Hes been the mandatory for a long time now. If he vacates and challenges Abraham, it says he running scared of Sergio imo. He should have fought him instead of Mora in the 1st place, Martinez had won the eliminator.
