Angry Edison Miranda fought this weekend?

I had no idea Edison Miranda fought this weekend. I missed it and I also missed the Dunne/Cordoba fight WTF! I am downloading them right now. I heard these were some good scraps.

Same here. I didn't even hear the buzz about it. He won by round 5 TKO.

They showed it live on Eurosport. He looked good at lightheavyweight but we have to take into consideration the quality of opposition .

Miranda did something I havent seen him do before which was wind up punches ala Ray Leonard. It was a convincing display from a man who looked on his way out in the damaging KO defeat to Abraham . At light heavy there are good fights out there for him . He wants Taylor - Froch winner but I think Roy Jones would be a good fight for him .

Heard he called out the winner of Taylor v Fouch after the fight or rather read it on fightnews. I think Taylor would beat him the way he beat Lacy.

I just finished watching the fight. Miranda gets hit way too much for my liking. I was expecting to see some ray leonard but that was the worst SRL impersonation I have ever seen Miranda was in there with a tomato can. I can't believe what I was hearing when the commentators were talking about Miranda blowing up to 224 pounds before his fight second with Arthur Abraham. I dont ever remember seeing Pantera that big. I don't believe that one for a minute.

It was a routine fight for Miranda and he bossed the fight against a game but outgunned Vegas. Miranda showed his strength and power though if it was against a more dangerous opponent; I'd expect to see a better, sharper Miranda. He has a very good jab and decent skills but didn't really need them in this fight.

The defensively minded Vegas gave it a good go and tried landing powershots on Edison but the outcome was inevitable. Miranda started the 1st pretty passively but in the 3rd dropped Vegas twice and also landed a cheap shot on the break.

The 5th saw Miranda batter Vegas in a corner with hooks and that thunderous right cross - the ref called a halt.

Hopefully he returns again sometime in the future as his fights are never dull.

60 pounds of ego that Abraham deflated perhaps?

In all seriousness he didn't fight the second Abraham fight like someone weight drained, he was good for 3 and a half rounds and Abraham found the opening, took it and it was the end

thats about all you need to know

I thought edison looked really slow at the weight to be honest but he was in with a guy who buckled with every time he got caught on the chin.

Sad but true. Miranda showed up to training camp at 224lbs for the Abraham fight. I saw a pic of him. I will try to find it. He lookes like a damn gorilla. Huge!

Pantera. Long time no see, how have you been?

Any news about prospective opponents for Miranda? Also, Do you know if he's staying a 168 or moving up to 175?

He wants the Froch vs Taylor winner so seems to be aiming his sights at Super Middleweight. Glad he is as he adds to the depth of talent in the division.

    Hey buddy... Been good!
Miranda is close to signing a deal to fight Andre Ward on May 16th (I believe Showtime). If this works out, hopefully it will help the winner get a shot at Taylor/Froch. This would most likely work out to be an elimination bout and possible for a BS title. So it would be at 168lbs.
