    Thumbs up Re: hangover cures

an english fryup....no really, they did a test on all sorts of hangover cures. It's to do with the protein & possibly the fat that slows down the absorption of the remaining alcohol in your system.

The hangover is horrid, horrid thing. People always say that you should drink water before going to bed, but if I've been on the beer then I'm usually in no state to remember to drink any water. So, maybe that helps but I don't know.

When I do wake up with the dreaded hangover and that pounding head and dead all over feeling, I find drinking a lot of water helps somewhat. I also find it helpful to make sure I fill my stomach and a bit of a fry up helps. Some bacon and sausages with a bit of juice and toast. Then a boiling hot bath. By that stage I'm on the mend and with a few cups of hot tea, I'm just about ready to start drinking again!!

Try to have a few none drinking days between sesssions too so the body can rest. I will typically drink on one weekend night and one weekday night if I'm feeling restless. Age just makes the hangovers heavier and tougher to deal with though.

Similar to the rep points...........I wish I could tell a girl that I had to spread it around before giving it back to her.

Yeah, hangovers are about dehydration. But I find that even though I wake up thirsty, the water doesn't really settle my stomach. You can always try the preventative approach. If you know you are going to do some serious drinking, then drink water along with your beer or whatever, and the hangover is pretty minimal in the morning.

That is common sense. One of my friends here always does that and he says he wakes up at 7am after a night out in okay shape. My problem is that when I'm drinking I just want to guzzle beer and nothing else! Recipe for a hangover!

I take aspirin all the time with alcohol, and the only side effect is that my skin is kindof yellow.

yeah it's dehyrdation but any of you drank a load of water after a night on the pop and end up feeling worse? Flushing all those toxins round your body.

Ok, I'll upgrade to a fryup and a cup of tea.

Water, as much as you can stomach before going to bed.

Also, if you're drinking hard liquor, drink something clear like vodka. My hangovers have improved immeasurable since I switched from whiskey to vodka.

For a friends bachelor party weekend I knew we were going to be boozing for 3 straight days and I get horrible hangovers. I drank highly distilled vodka (grey goose, level one, etc) on the rocks with an orange wedge squeezed in it. I also pounded gatorade in the mornings and before we went out every night. Didn't stop the hangover but definitely lessened it and kept me partying all weekend

Chaser pills work pretty good for me, and loads of water between drinks.
