    Default So I guess Valero-Prescott isn't happening

For some reason I thought this was set but I guess they were just talking about it.

its on fightnews, Valero denies it, says he's not interested, only wants bigger names.

Pretty silly... Would have been a great fight to let us now where they both really stand. They both kind of have that kill or be killed style yet both seem durabe enough, this should have been a very fan friendly scrap, shame. What big name does Valero really expect to land a fight with now anyways? Noone really out there at lightweight with any star power anymore.. I suppose Katsidis or Juan Diaz would be great matchups as well. tbo I really don't see big things coming to either of these guys so I don't to much care to see them tested I suppose, just thought this would have been a fun fight. What is Guzman doing these day, has he moved up officially?

    Anthony Peterson
    Urbano Antillon
    David Diaz
    Amir Khan

I mentioned Diaz and Katsidis, was just saying are any of those other fights really going to bring any more notoriety for Valero at this point. No way in hell Khan is going to fight him so you can exclude that one.. Antillon, Peterson, Funeka, even Casamayor are all much bigger challenges than Prescott with little bargaining power, lose lose fights for Valero imo. Id pick him to lose against all but Casa at this stage but even then who knows.

I'm cool on the Rolando Reyes fight, watching 1 Rolando Reyes fight was enough Rolando Reyes for me.

How long ago was the Mosquera fight? Tht had to be 2005 right? I mean really, when is he going to get a relevant opponent in there and until he does, who is he to call the shots? I mean really, Prescott's win over Khan in Khan's backyard has to at least equal Valero's right and that was more recent.

One good thing is he mentioned some fighters that I would like to see him in against, prticulary Urbano Antillon. And yeah, what about Guzman? He made 135 his last fight which is encouraging, he has the talent to beat ANYBODY, but he just stays on the shelf.

You mean Valero actually wants to fight a name this time around!? Big step up for him...
