Easy win for Calzaghe really. He would box Froch's ears off for an easy and wide UD. Froch has no defence and Calzaghe would rain combinations on him over and over again at will. I wouldn't mind seeing it actually, because I think it would be very funny!

I'm glad really, Calzaghe is a legend imo Britains best ever fighter, even including the legendary, almost mythical pre war fighters who are usually regarded as semi divine and have no film footage for us to analyse.

Froch is a new era, just like Calzaghe represented a new era from Benn, Eubank etc.

Calzaghe Eubank was never really a prime for prime fight, Eubank was older, coming off losses and took the fight at short notice, Calzaghe himself was young and green.

Froch should focus on building his own legacy now. The supermiddleweight division is so much more lively now than when Calzaghe reigned for most of his decade and Froch has already shown desire to get in amongst them.

Prime for Prime based on what we've seen Calzaghe handles Froch pretty easily but Froch should be credited for making his American debut and crashing the US market 9 years earlier into his reign than Joe did and hopefully he will continue to seek out the best challenges.

He needs to wake up and realise 3 things.

1 - Calzaghe has retired
2 - Yes he won but his boxing ability was seriously lacking compared to Taylor and hes not half as good as he thinks he is.
3 - Calzaghe would destroy him and take all the credit he has woked for and craves and throw it in the bin. And whats the point of havin that happen?

I dunno, man. Not a great synopsis, really. Eubank was 31 years old. Maybe not in his prime, but not far past his best. He gave Joe a very good run. A lot better than Jones did anyway.

no way Jones dropped Calzaghe, and landed twice as many punches Eubanks did cleanly. Jones got some BS scorecards against him, against Calzaghe, how could they only give him the first round given how competitive the whole fight was leading up to his cut.

I'm not sure what you're disagreeing with? Eubank took the Calzaghe fight as a last minute replacement, two weeks notice or something and had to lose a ridiculous amount of weight in that time as evidenced by the fact that following the Calzaghe fight he jumped not one, but two weight classes straight to cruiserweight.

It was simply not a prime, in peak shape Chris Eubank that Calzaghe beat.

However this isn't to criticise Calzaghe in any way as Eubank did not fight a prime Calzaghe. Calzaghe was a young kid only 23 or 24, had never been 12 rounds and had not fought in anything like the class Eubank had.

Hence my statement it wasn't a prime for prime fight as neither was in his prime.

Going on to the Roy Jones fight even the most ardent Calzaghe fans would try to claim that Joe beat a prime Roy Jones. Prime Roy Jones was arguably the greatest fighter of all time, he was virtually unbeatable.
