Default Atlas terrible during fights last night

Atlas was also mourning the passing of a boxing community luminary while Macky was being decked. Atlas is the SHOW;not the boxers.

Atlas messed another broadcast with his alternately biased and oblivious commentary. You can ALways tell which fighter Atlas is insisting must win. in this case Godfrey, as Hawk couldn't and didn't get any recognition as he stalked a backpedaling Godfrey all fight long. however, according to Atlas' biased commentary, you'd think it was the othe way around. during the 1oth (Hawk's best round) Godfrey was being consistently tagged, backed-up, and even staggerred ALL of which went unrecognized (undetected?) by Atlas oblivious commentary as he (Once Again) bored the CRAP out of me with another one of his long-winded, inarticulate anecdote/rant about who the heck cares. Somebody needs to tell Atlas to STFU while the bout is happening. the Fight NOT the announcers should be the focus of attention. in which case, Atlas has go to Go.

I enjoy Teddy Atlas. I didn't always feel this way about him, but still, I've come to like the guy.

I confess. Atlas can sound ridiculous and walks around with a goodie bag of stock replies slung over his shoulder, but he does a good job helping the ignorant understand the science of boxing.

Lol; it's funny because it's just the opposite for me: used to like the guy and now he just annoys me most of the time

Seems he is bound and determined to outdo his last analogical comparison. His windshield/clear driving conditions one he did last night might be one of his better ones

At one point we both answered, " I think he's just okay."

Max and Teddy may be annoying, but at least I can tell that they love the sport.

Guys like Larry Merchant who IMO are just there for a paycheck are the ones I hate. Guys who spend no time getting to know the sport even though they've been watching it for years and years. Same with Jim Lamphley, even though I like him, he still comes across as uneducated when it comes to boxing from my point of view. I am not sure if he's ever tried boxing before or not, but he comes across as the type of commentator who doesn't truly know whats going on.

I can't stand Teddy but I thought he did a better job than usual last night.

His analysis on the George-Henry fight was pretty right on IMO and the Hawk-Godfrey fight was just so unbelievably boring because Hawk refused to fight for the most part that Teddy just kind of rambled on and was funny a few times. It bothers me when Teddy rambles during a good fight, but what was he supposed to say last night, "hmm lets see Hawk is still not throwing punches, back to you"

He can be annoying, but I like him. Out of all the boxing commentators out there, you can tell with him it is just not a job, it is a pure passion. He loves the boxing game and you can feel his enthusiasm.

That's very true. I can't stand Max but hell the guy is passionate abou the game and in all truthfulness is pretty damn good at what he does. His serial killer eyes though freak me out.

Larry Merchant I am still hoping will drop dead in front of the camera one night; just pause and look at the floor; then clutch his chest and fall into the camera. F#cked up thing is I'll probably miss the old croaker when he's gone.

An example is the Pacquiao vs Hatton fight. It was a big event and the HBO crew were practically asleep there.

Atlas would have been freaking out. He would not have been able to contain himself. That is why I like him because he lives and breaths boxing. He might dumb it down in there for the casual viewer, but he is all about boxing.

And while we are at it, BJ Flores is wince-provoking as well. This guy is the most politically correct bloke I have heard yet. They asked him about Tomaz-Bobby Gunn and he says Tomaz should win preety big. Huh? Gunn might get terrinbly hurt tonight this is such a horrible mismatch. How about calling it what it is, Flores?

Naw, Tessitori, Atlas and now BJ (and maybe even Sauuuuuul) need to go IMO.

In all seriousness who do you replace them with? Mario Lopez?

I tell you I like it when Nate Campbell has been on there analyzing fights; he's been good. Who else Hmmm; not Hopkins the guy will ramble on and on if given a chance much like Teddy. What's Tommy Morrison doing these days?
