Default Fedor vs Brock could happen....

    from yahoo sports

The UFC will focus on pursuing the world’s No. 1 heavyweight, Fedor Emelianenko (30-1), who is approaching his final contracted fight with the UFC’s rival promotion, Affliction. That takes place Aug. 1 in Anaheim, Calif.
“We’ll end up getting that deal done and then we’ll do Brock vs. Fedor and we’ll do a huge fight,” White said.
Time will tell on that. In the interim, a contender is waiting to earn his shot and then possibly take the trash talk to a whole new level. That’s what Brock Lesnar has brought to the UFC, visceral reactions all around.

I think this is in the bag. Dana has completely changed the way he speaks about Fedor. If he wasn't sure he could bring him over I think his tone would be very different. Right now the biggest obstacle to Fedor coming to the UFC is Barnett though. He will be tested in August 1.

Fedor vs Brock. Dream matchup. I think Fedor submits him though. But this fight has to happen.

Brock has yet to have his chin checked and the times Mir hit him his legs buckled. Brock may have the body and build and power etc, but he may be another Wladimer before Sanders where "he looks so perfect you wonder whats wrong with him"

I think the guy that just knocked out Arlovski has a shot against Lesnar.

My $$$ is on Fedor; the guy is viscious and can adapt to anything thrown at him it seems. Brock's only hope is lay on him and pound him like he did Mir; but Fedor is going to be hard to get down I think because he moves so fast. This fight needs to happen.

I was shocked he didn't get his neck broken when Kevin Randleman suplexed him; but he just keeps going like nothing happened lol.

I can think of a lot of fights where Fedor seemed to be losing and then, well he just won the fight. Mirko, Nog, Hunt, Arlovski, Coleman, Randleman and even Lindland all had moments when they were winning and Fedor found a way to turn the tables and dominate. Brock will bring a physical presence and athletic combination that Fedor hasn't seen before but you just have to believe that Fedor will find a way to finish Lesnar.

    Agreed.

Fedor is the only guy in MMA who I think can handle himself on the ground against Brock. Everyone else would strugle too much with the weight on top of them and get worn down but Fedor is lethal off his back. Hong man Choi was even bigger than Lesnar and he got Fedor into ground and pound but Fedor just countered into an arm bar and the Korean tapped out.

Brock wouldnt wana stand up with fedor and on the ground Brocks lacks the skills to compete with a sudmission expert like Fedor who has a counter for everything. What Brock did to Herring Fedor did more impressivley to a prime Herring and Ive seen Mir get beaten like that before too. Fedor though wouldnt just take shots without positioning himself to win the fight

I dont see it going past the 1st round and if it does then well done to Brock.

Fedor has the best armbar from the guard I have ever seen. A perfect fluid motion. I've watched the Coleman subs a hundred times and I am always impressed with the technique and speed.

Coleman wasn't too happy about that defeat

Funny I was watching that vid last night. Guy was WWE for a bit there.

For anyone who hasn't seen, this is good stuff on Fedor. The guy is almost scary in his nonchalance and seeming lack of emotions in a fight. I think the only reason he didn't die when Randleman slammed him on his head is because even in a bad situation he never panics; like a loose limbed raggedy ann doll. That slam he took to the head would have done permanent damage to many another man; from MMA to CRMA{Christopher Reeve Martial Arts} He just bounced back like a rubber band

Agreed, Fedor seems to have iced blood, he's always quiet, never panic and he seems to have a stunning jaw and overall resilience. Combine that with thunder in his fists, I think that Brock would have his arms fulls with him as he doesn't have the hitting technique to match him if the fight goes on standing and on the floor, he won't ground and pound Fedor the way he did with Herring or Mir. THough in the HW anything can happen, I wouldn't bet against the last emperor on that one.

It's funny, Fedor doesn't "look" like a bad ass. Never judge a book by its coverI know, but still if I didnt know him I'd probably be more than willing to pop off on him; only to be in the hospital for 2 months or the morgue

My dad always used to tell me, don't always assume that the guy with the scars and broken nose is the hard man that you should not mess with, the guy you want to be wary of is the one without the broken nose or any scars A lot of truth in that

Yep; well said by your pops. You just never know. Tbh I always tended to be much more wary of the quiet ones vs. the loud, bullying types anyways; alot of those loud mouth types can't take what they dish out; we've all seen it.
