Exactly double what I thought it would do. Hats off to Floyd. It's going to make the negotiations with Arum fun.

Who says it was Floyd? I thought it was Mayweather/Marquez show?

Right, it was all Marquez fans buying it

So by that logic, Marquez is a bigger star than Pacquiao or Hatton. Pull the other one. People said from day one that this promotion was all on Mayweather & that when it failed it would prove he had no pulling power. The fact is he does.

People on here spend too much time thinking about Mayweather as 'fight fans' rather than a casual sports fan. Mayweather brings in different demographics that no other fighter is really bringing right now, hence why he does a mil basically off his name.

Manny-Marquez 1 and 2 did (I think) 200 000 and 350 000 buys, although I could be a little out. Marquez has never done anything more than that PPV-wise. This hands Mayweather huge leverage when they negotiate for Mayweather Manny.

It is great news to be honest. I don't like the guy but you have to give credit where credit is due. I think Floyd is going to be fighting big names these next few fights and if he gets beat it will be in front of a big audience. Kudos to Floyd. He is growing on me a bit

Wonder what Dana White will say when he realizes that Mayweather vs. "what's his name" beat his ufc event

You can expect Mayweather Manny to have a projected number of at least two million buys. That's a $110 million gross just from the PPV, heading towards $150 with the site fee, gate, worldwide TV, sponsorship etc. No way that fight doesn't get made.

Even 50% of the final net number is enough to keep Mayweather in comfortable retirement for two or three years.

Congratulations to boxing these are good numbers. I thought it would be around 400- 600 thousand buys. Looks like he will have tremendous leverage against Pac.

Not the 1.6 million buys that rumors said the fight did, but still good for boxing.

    haha.

Yea this is great news for boxing. And now much as I hate to say it, Cotto really needs to lose to Pac and then we have a bonafide superduper fight and potential record breaker on our hands.

If Cotto beats Pacquiao I think there will be a lot of demand for PBF - Cotto. Obviously not as much as PBF - Pac, but I think it would still be a hugely popular event.

It would be big yea, but not nearly what Pac would do. It is the ultimate all stars lining up PPV boxing event of our recent time. Nothing else could work out remotely close for generating revenue.

Naw, it was neither... it was Pacquiao fans who never seen Mayweather fight....
