Did you watch the USA game? If so, how did Weiss play?

So most of it, doing things around the house but I saw most of it.
He played well, I mean USA didn't show much. His playing was average.
There we're no special moments or any outstanding plays.

The US, obviously down Onyewu and Davies BUT also Howard and Donovan. Who the hell played for us? Good for Bradley to get some different players some reps. I noticed Eddie Johnson was on this squad, did he get any run? Did he look like he could add anything to the team?

If EJ doesn't add anything I say just start Freddy Adu at striker and later on sub in Feilhaber for him then move Dempsey up to striker. And if you're not going to start Adu then start Kenny Cooper FFS!

Bob Bradley needs to understand we're not going to be the team we were with Charlie Davies and therefore we need to switch up our strategy a bit. Even before Davies' injury we were not making the most out of our set pieces, maybe we should work on that.

Here's who I would take to South Africa if I was in Bob Bradley's place

    ST: Altidore, Cooper, Adu
Mid: Donovan, Dempsey, Bradley, Feilhaber, Clarke, Holden, Torres, Jones
Backs: Bocanegra, Cherundolo, Onyewu, DeMerit, Spector, Wynne, Gibbs, Castillo
    GK: Howard, Guzan, Perkins

I figure that team is probably the most talented we can put out there and it gives us good diversity and athletic skill all over the pitch. Despite how Wynne has played in the recent past I like his style, he's quick as hell...and if Jermaine Jones isn't ready to play I wouldn't be opposed to giving Eddie Johnson or DeMarcus Beasley another shot at playing.

We have a decent little American right-back at my team (sheffield wednesday) - Frank Simek.
Think he has a couple of caps, but has been ravaged by injuries the last two years.
Seen him at all Lyle, Mick?

Simek's ok, haven't seen him in a while.

I actually would have been more surprised by a US win really. Altidore is kind of meh IMO. Living on potential at the moment. Davies being out is just a massive loss for us.

Right now we are a team of POTENTIAL OumaFan, bar Donovan, Howard, Dempsey, and MAYBE Bocanegra...everyone on our team can POTENTIALLY be a very good player.

I'm surprised that Justin Mapp hasn't gotten any run on the national team, he is a pretty solid player. Sal Zizzo, although he's having a rough go of it in Europe should start to get some run as well.

If Beasley or Johnson had lived up to their potential we'd be doing wonderfully right now even given what happened with Davies. EJ and Davies would have been a phenomenal combo very quick...but Davies is hurt and his career might be over and EJ just lost his ability to put the ball away and I don't know what the hell happened with Beasley.

I still hope Freddy Adu turns it on, he's only 20 he can still improve but each passing year we're getting closer and closer to seeing all he can provide and he hasn't lived up to the hype....he's good, he'd be a lot better in the MLS though. Altidore is tops for us, first pure striker you can really depend on.
