    Default Khan vs Salita

I'm not the biggest fan of Amir Khan as I feel he is a manufactured champion.

He has good speed, but no punch power at all and seems to win fights by throwing endless rabbit punches.

I wasn't intending on paying for this on PPV as I don't think Khan deserves to be on PPV yet, the fight should have been on normal tv to build his fanbase IMO.

But the more I look into it, it has the potential to be a decent fight.

Does anyone know much on Salita? I've seen a couple fights of his just from watching boxing and a couple more highlights from searching for them. But besided that I'll admit to not knowing much on him.

He's undefeated and has had quite a few fights which does speak volumes on his ability, even if he has fought poor opponents, he still beat them.

So will it be a good fight?
    Will you be buying?
    Is Salita any good?

I wouldn't say Khan has 'no punch power at all'. Sure he isnt a one punch knockout merchant but he has enough pop to make his opponents respect the punches.
Salita is no great shakes. He doesn't have any outstanding qualities and is pretty slow. Seems fairly durable though, although whether he will be durable at world class level i don't know.
Having said that, i think Khan could have (not should have) taken an easier first defence.

    Was a mandatory I think.

Arum is the guys promoter, so I'm sure Roach is confident of a Khan win or it wouldn't have happened.

Khan should make an easy history of that one, he has way enough speed and power to get the task done plus under Roach it seems to improve at a fairly good speed.

I used to like Khan i watched him win his silver medal i've watched all his pro fights but i got sick of them ramming him down our throats trying to fool us how good he was. Then came his first PPV and i thought no way is he PPV material yet this is a joke then i watched the countdowns on sky and saw this kid Prescott had hunger he lived in a right run down place had a big punch and i thought he is guna smoke Khan well worth £14.95 and how right i was. So on December 5th i will be cheering Salita on so we can get rid of Khan for good. Also with Prescott on the under card fighting Kevin Mitchell theirs a good chance of a Prescott vs Khan rematch.

Khan should win this easily. Salita has fought terrible opposition to plump up his record.

Also, I wouldn't be thinking Khan v Prescott rematch yet. Mitchell is tough and will give Prescott a much better fight than Khan did.

he's got some of the best fighers in and around his division so we will see what Kahn is made of eventually! He seems to have a much tighter defence and seems to of calmed down under Roach..

HBO did a ring life special on Salita.

I don't think he will be able to deal with Khan's speed at all. But there
are worse opponents Khan could face. Salita is cut prone and that is
going to be a big factor in this fight, I would say a mid-round stoppage
    is highly likely.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

So will it be a good fight? - Usually always entertainment with khan. He comes to fight, hopefully this guy will as well and we get a good`un

Will you be buying? - Yes, jury is still well out on khan but he has impressed me immensly since the prescott debacle and has clearly demonstrated he is PPV material in the UK!

Is salita any good - His 30-0 appears padded but from what ive seen very briefly he looks the part. Dont think he`ll win the fight but if he takes khan 12 and makes it interesting he`ll come away with a lot of credit

He looks a great match-up for Khan. Pretty slow, predictable and not a big puncher.

Khan will look good stopping him. Although with Khan's incredibly fragile chin you never know.

Smart matchmaking isn't putting your guy in with bums its putting your guy in with a guy that looks credible on paper but in reality plays to your fighters strengths. I've seen Salita a number of times and not only is he not that good style wise he doesn't match up well with Khan.

Kotelnik was very credible on paper but he's a guy who likes to stand flat footed with a high guard and counter. Put him in with a guy who will move all night, make Salita come to him, and then throw combos keeping him busy blocking with that high guard and he's got little chance.

    Freddy Roach is no mug.

This. I think Khan is a lot better than people give him credit for & I will be paying for this because those on here have made me a fan (sorry Missy), but I thought Salita lost on the Calzaghe-Jones undercard against a journeyman. I expect Khan to stop him in 8. Then he should fight either the Bradley-Peterson winner or Devon Alexander. He won't though

Khan will win, this is a hand picked opponent who is slow and limited. No will not be paying not worth it.

I'd like to see him take on Maidana and have a real tear up.

Like was said though, Roach is no mug and I can't see that happening unless Maidana can go on an unbeaten run and beat everyone else near him. Very tough division though.
