I am not asking if you think he will become an elite but if you want him to.

The reason I ask is there seem a lot of people who are just hopping he fails.

Sad really, but very British at the same time.

Me. I still don't get why people hate him. He's made a few silly comments over-rating his own ability but i've yet to see a fighter who doesn't talk up his own ability.

Ok he can't drive. Other than that, generally speaking, he speaks well, he's pretty exciting to watch, he's got very good ability.

I don't get it really. Carl froch, Joe Calzaghe and David Haye are far more arrogant, yet neither of them get booed and jeered on their way to the ring.

    I wonder why?

Missy's behaviour is rational because MAB is a bit of a hero to her, although i don't think she liked Khan too much beforehand.

We have already seen him fail but he is still very young.

BTW, I had no idea he was moving to MMA

Would I like to see him on an elite level? What do you mean by elite?

But what ever.. I don't mind seeing him on the elite level.

Chin is still a main concern. Hearns had a suspect and sometimes guilty chin and he became an elite. Hope to see Khan step it up soon if he is allowed. Right now they have him on training wheels

Because none of them won a medal at the Olympics at the age of 17. A massive achievement when you consider he was the only British fighter there. Some things deserve recognition.

Did anyone boo Oscar De La Hoya or Ray Leonard?

I don't think thats a good enough reason to hate someone and hope they don't succeed.

I just want to try and gage the the feelings for Khan on this site.

To me it seems natural to want your country men to do well in there sport but it seems with Khan people want to watch him fail.

That's the thing. I'm not tribal so I prefer to support people I like for any number of reasons and not because I was born in the same country as them, to me that isn't rational.

What young rich sportsperson is universally loved? Khan's support FAR outweighs the hate. He wouldn't sell 8,000 tickets otherwise.

    Gold medal winners
    Audley = hated.
DeGale = booed on debut for fucks sake.

If they turned pro under the radar no-one would see them until they get near championship level. The spotlight from day one is the only real reason Khan has haters. Like all famous fighters have.

They weren't given the hype job that Khan was from day 1.

Check the threads plenty of people hate those three, stop with the wonder why comments because no doubt people will be looking to blame it on racism.
