    Default Luis Resto Documentary

I'm not sure if this was talked about on here before. I just watched it and found it a very nice watch. I guess I can still sympatize with Resto since it looks like he really regrets what he did. But it makes you wonder, Margarito got a suspension and Resto was banned for life. .That's unfair - in a way that Margarito should be banned for life also . Panama Lewis is an ass but i just wondered why Resto was so nice to Panama and even hugged him at the end. I wouldn't even shake his hand. ANyone else see this ?

what Resto did was worse than Margarito for 3 reasons, he not only loaded his wraps, he took the padding out of his gloves, he took illegal drugs to give him energy in the later rounds, and a man DID die as a result of his actions, leaving an entire family broken, it's still not even certain that Margarito is going to be left with ONLY a year suspension, he just may be banned for life come 2010, i had very little pity for Resto and that much less for Panama, they both are sacks of shit, only good thing i can say bout Resto is that at least he's come clean, and he's trying to change, Lewis is just garbage and should rot in hell

True , but you can't say Billy died just because of Resto. He did have his share in leading to it . But it wasn't murder. And Resto was banned for life prior to Collins dying . btw I'm not trying to defend Resto in any way, just discussing

oh i understand that, i'm just saying that IMO Resto's case was a bit stronger than Margarito, and it'll probably always be considered that way due to the fact that the fight that Margarito was caught, he didn't actually get to use the loaded gloves, unlike in the Resto fight

Thats probably the main cause. Its different when catching someone attempting to do a crime and someone who has already done one .

I talked about this documentary in the other thread when it happened but in short, these are my feelings towards your thread starter:

-Luis Resto got what he deserved, but I felt for him because he was genuinely looking for forgiveness

-Lewis is slime. I wish nothing but the worst for him. The Arguello/Pryor controversy + this one, there is no doubt this guy will be paying for it after this lifetime (if you believe in that sort of thing). He is still involved in the sport which makes me sick to my stomach.

-Margarito and his trainer should've been banned for WAY MORE than a year IMO.

Using weapons to hurt somebody is criminal. Resto deserves no sympathy, he even lied till the very end when he got cornered with the transcripts of a double agent otherwise he would have denied it forever. Yeah, he's a broken man, poor with nothing, poor him but he did everything he could to get into that situation, I have no tears remaining for him.

I can't say I pitied Resto but he's paid for it... Not only with his living in basements and poverty but with the lasting internal scars carried for years knowing that his actions indirectly cased a man's death and destroyed a family... Yeah, he got what he deserved... Good.

As far as Lewis... If he died a slow, painful death in a carnage filled, firey inferno, I wouldn't even muster the energy to shrug. Fact!

I'll point out one more thing. Resto has a weak personality . I think he was manipulated by the people around him ( Lewis and maybe other people in his corner) . At around 50 he still looks like a troubled teen

Poor personality isn't enough to forgive a guy for a potential murder attempt.

he also gives the vibe of a guy who doesn't like to face up to his responsibilities, be it in the ring or everything out, where was he when his kids were growing up? nowhere to be found, it's a continuous cycle, he doesn't like to face up to his responsibilities, whatever they may be
