Default Is Dave Parris really ref for Mitchell v Katsidis?

Michael Katsidis' manager unhappy with appointment of English referee | The Australian
    Surely he cant be.

I guess the Brits have got one back for the ref in the Froch Kessler fight.

Dave Parris has been around along time but in truth has had his day.

Neutral ref will be the fairest solution in such a big fight.

In the UK these last couple of years - refs have been jumping in way too early and we don't want this for Mitchell vs Katsidis.

I believe Katsidis will win as he has fought at a higher level than Mitchell. Gonna be a competitive fight though.

Parris is there for one thing and one thing only. To make sure Mitchell wins the fight.

Kevin Mitchell won't need help from the ref, he's a good/slick operator. He doesn't clinch and to my knowledge isn't known for dirty tactics, it should be a hell of a fight. Im rooting for Kevin Mitchell because he's a fellow londoner, and also just because i think he's a good honest fighter.

I also like Michael Katsidis, he reminds me of a modern day version of Arturo Gatti. But im taking Kevin Mitchell in a FOTY candidate, his better boxing skills, quicker hand speed, better boxing brain, will be the difference.

Well if Dave refs the way he did and allows a lot of rough housing, low blows and grappling like in the Tszyu Hatton fight then Katsidis should win.... Lets see if old Dave is true to form.

    Exactly

Mitchell is the finished article now and is as good as he is ever going to get. He works behind the jab and uses his technique to frustate his opponents.

Katsidis will have to be as patient as hell for a good few rounds and infront of 25,000 fans screaming for blood i very much doubt that will happen.

The point is Katsidis has a good chance if he can rough Mitchell up and turn the fight into a brawl. if Parris Referees this fight the same way he did the Tszyu Hatton fight then Kats will be allowed to rough house, clinch and foul quite a bit.
I almost guarantee dirty Dave will keep Katsidis off Mitchell and warn or penalise Kats for anything resembling a foul..

But even with tszyu's low blows and grappling hatton still won the fight so I'm not too upset with dave about that.

Katsidis won't be able to make it a rough fight. He will be outclassed IMO.

I got Mitchell winning as well. With Parris as the ref it'll most likely be a DQ win

Paris is a dispicable human - As a judge, a referee and in life.

I thought Mitchell was going to win this anyway but now it is all but guaranteed.

Even if Katsidis knocks Mitchell out, Paris will get down and give Mitchell mouth to mouth and after half an hour recovery time, rule it a slip.

The sooner nuetral refs and judges are introduced the better. The Froch Kessler fight being judged by Tilleman and Kats v Mitchell being reffed by Parris is ridiculous. Wouldnt happen in other sports.

    i do agree with this.

I'm not saying that parris is a bent ref but I think in all fairness refs and judges shouldn't be from the country or town of one of the partisipants.
