Very close, but after last night's performance I have Floyd edging it for now.

I think right now it's clear the title of p4p 1 is contested and should be vacant.

The Ring routinely does this for every weight class, about a third of the divisions have no Ring champion and I think it's the same here.

Pac was just as impressive vs Cotto as Mayweather was vs Mosley. I'd keep things the way they are. I do sort of agree with Bilbo's reasoning though.

I'd say its even the Shane Mosley vs Miguel Cotto, fight was dead even. I had the fight a draw and both men landed the exact amount of punches.

Pacquiao/Mayweather were both dominant in there victories, and both fighters were top 10 P4P fighters when they were beaten.

gotta go with Pacman until he loses. He has been extremely impressive moving up in weight and beating the cr@p out of bigger fighters...not just winning.

    Floyd never was not P4P #1 I don't think.

Let the fight happen. See if one makes the other seem ordinary ... or if we end up with a Gatti-Ward fight except instead of just two great warriors, we have two extraordinary boxers in the ring, all the better.

    Hope it happens.

(Is it even possible that Floyd could make Manny look "ordinary?")

this one's easy! mayweather jr. is simply better than pacquiao and is the best fighter p4p in the world. pacquiao is a nice little fighter but his boxing cannot compare to mayweather jr.. i hope this fight happens so that mayweather jr. will finally put this silly question to rest. he will dominate pacquiao as easily as mosley was dominated.

If he does, I can already see some people making excuses (The same ones who hyped Mosley up and then claimed he was a shot fighter when Floyd dominated) "Pacquiao is too small"
"The day I clipped the Butterfly's wings."

i used to make many derogatory remarks about pacquiao simply because i thought his fans were idiots but pacquiao really is a remarkable fighter. many of his fans are saying he's currently no. 5 all-time p4p which i think is crazy, but he is probably in the top 30 as of now. still, a great accomplishment for someone who until 3 years ago wasn't really known in the boxing world. having said that, mayweather jr. is in a different level from EVERYBODY. this guy i believe, doesn't get the proper respect from most fans because of his "safe" style of boxing. and that's okay because so far this style has helped guide him to a career undefeated record, something not even pacquiao can brag about. i hope this fight happens so that mayweather will leave no doubt as who is the best. the fact is, pacquiao's aggressive come forward style will play perfectly into mayweather's counter punching style. pacquiao will make many mistakes and mayweather will gladly capitalize on them. in the clottey fight, the whole world saw how open pacquiao was and at the end of the night, his face was jacked up by a fighter (clottey) who simply refused to fight back. breaking news, clottey is no mayweather! this will be an easier fight than most people think. if pacquiao thinks the counterpunching marquez was a hard nut to crack, he's in for a rude awakening if he ever has the nerve to face the incomparable mayweather jr.
