I knew i forgot something last night. Light Flyweight Hernan Marquez just beat Juan Esquer over 12 rounds. Should he get the vacant 9th spot in the division? I say yes. He's undefeated. And Esquer was no push over. He almost beat Ivan Calderon a couple of years ago. I was meaning to vote on this prior to the fight but kept forgetting.

Hey VD, good to have you back aboard!

You need to create a new poll, set it to close in 3 days, leave it open so we can see who has voted & put all the fighters in the pool at 108 & those you think worth of nomination as options to vote on. You also need to include the option to leave the position vacant

For the record Esquer put a lot of pressure on Calderon but was nowhere near beating Calderon!!!

If you like I can put the poll up for you?

Yeah go ahead. Thanks. And I only had Esquer losing by a point or two.

Herman Marquez should fill it. If the 9th spot gets filled than I can live with Mayol being placed at 10th. But I don't agree with him getting the 9th spot based on a draw

That's what the votes for. Remember as Manager your vote is worth 2 points, so Marquez is still technically ahead at this point.

Your basing Marquez' rank on beating Esquer & being undefeated, I also think he is an excellent prospect, but Calderon beat Esquer back in '07 & he'd lost 3 of his last 6 coming into the Marquez fight. Mayol fought to a six round draw with the #1 guy in our rankings & although it ended in only 6 rounds I feel it deserves some recognition.

My opinion is he didn't lose to our #1 guy & was nominated after the Calderon fight for ranking (receiving votes), so I feel he deserves to be nominated again...

He's a tough ol' durable fighter, but he looked less than relevant in that fight.

Tyson has the ability to become a world champion and he has shown great chin too. Esquer has connected with great punches but he manages to withstand the relentless Esquer and won.
