    Default Khan/Ortiz

Or De La Hoya's "Golden Boys" as Kellerman said OVER AND OVER last night.

I thought Ortiz got a little discouraged early on in the fight when he was struggling to land on Campbell's guard. But when he realized Campbell wasn't trying to take the fight to him, Ortiz gained confidence and just did enough to win the fight. Ortiz has some good snap on his punches but he definitely should've taken Campbell out of there. I still have yet to form a real opinion on him until he fights someone who is firing back.

I've never seen Khan aside from his loss to Prescott and his 1st round KO of Salita. I was really impressed with him. He does talk a lot and I can see why people hate on him but he has a bright future with the right trainer to take him there. Paulie was the right opponent for him. Khan has sick hand speed, puts his punches together well, and just overall has great skills. His only flaw is his chin, which is why Paulie was a good opponent for him. He beat Paulie at his own game and debuted in the US with flying colors.

140 is a SWEET division! Too bad mainstream people know virtually no one from that class.

I was disapointed with both these guys on Sat for lack of killer instinct. They were each up against older, slower, smaller men who were little threat and had both been stopped before but Khan and Ortiz played it safe. I imagine a fight between the two would make for pretty dull entertainment. Roach has helped Khan become a better fighter and he has also helped him become a boring fighter who takes no chances even when the other guy isnt punching back

I expect more in their next fights.

Ortiz is going to have to be matched up well with his opponents cause I don't think he's going to win fights where he isn't dominating. I don't see it. He was way too cautious with someone who wasn't punching back.

Paulie may not have been putting any pressure on Khan but he was throwing way more than Campbell was on Ortiz. Khan has way more potential between the two but he will always keep his opponent at bay with the jab or throw a flurry then getting out of there.

Between Ortiz and Khan, I think Khan is going to recover and make more out of his career.

I share the same view about Ortiz always needing to be in control of a fight to do well.

Add this to the end of my statement: "since the Maidana fight"
