Default whitecollar boxing in Melb Aus

    Hi folks,

I've been floating around a few gyms here over the last 10 months or so trying to find a decent white collar boxing gym. I'm at one now that's probably the best I've found thus far but still not great.

What I'm looking for when I mean 'white collar' is really a training timetable that allows training early in morning or later in evening (i.e., not 4-6pm but around office hours).

All the 'authentic' gyms I find train at times I cant make. The others (the ones I end up at) are really sub-standard and when I talk to them and look around they talk a lot of shit about how they train 'fighters' then when I sign up for six months there it's not much more than boxercise.

The one I'm at now has ONE proper boxing session taken by a trainer and could be called 'teaching boxing'. I asked how I can 'learn to box doing one session a week - this is what I joined for' and they said take one personal training session a week with the trainer at $65 a crack... Hey I'm white collar but I'm not THAT loaded.

Has anyone else had this problem? All the places I'm looking at are inner city Melbourne if anyone is from here.

There are so many bjj places here now it's frightening but so few boxing gyms.

    Cheers,

I'm struggling myself, but I'm in the UK.

Work has to come first and come 6pm when I'm finished I'm either too tired or keen to get back to family.

I want to find a trainer that will work with me at 7am!

true that, i guess if your lucky enough to be able to pay a personal trainer you could get someone to work in that time frame, or someone that works during the day like you and would train outside those hours. but for guys like us we need a close friend who is into training and has a qualification. i don't know if you could be your own trainer - qualified, as it would still be quite difficult to do on ones own.

You may have to travel out mate . Sunshine and out in the north west suburbs is probably the capital of serious boxing in Victoria, Preston etc all out that way too, Broady etc. Maybe footscray around there is closest to inner city. Older part of Port melbourne is worth a look too.
