Default So in 24 hours Dirrell has gone from maybe not being able to fight again to now..

After that shameful article by Dan Rafael where he tried to spin some sympathy into boxing community to hide Dirrells utter lack of balls. By saying that his career could be over his trainer had to step in and do limited damage control.

Dirrell trainer has come out and said:
"The final thing, again, that we want to say about his career is that he will be back. We don't know how soon, and that's what we all have our fingers crossed about. We hope that it's sooner rather than later. He's not lost his mind or anything.

There are just some things that we are concerned about and that's why we have gone and had him looked at.
So, it's nothing to be super-alarmed about. There are few things about his behavior that just aren't the same."

I think the size of his balls were looked at and they have come to the conclusion they are definitely not up to size just yet, maybe they will grow some in the next few months, probably coinside with the super six ending if I was a betting man.

Very disappointing. To be honest this kind of thing was the only way they were going to get out of fighting each other. I remember in the first Fight Camp episode the Showtime dude (forget what his name is) said they had all signed legally binding contracts and if they dropped out of the tournament their careers could be over because of the legal ramifications that would bring. It seemed the only way to get out of the tourney was to semi-retire a la Taylor or suffer some serious form of injury i.e Kessler's eyes and now Dirrell's brain. I'm not saying there isn't something wrong with him, but it looks very suspicious that this has only come out now when there's been months of posturing and bitching about fight venues etc. and a "serious" injury was the only way to prevent this fight happening without suffering a backlash from Showtime and allow them to keep fighting in the future.

Head injuries can be deceiving. What seems like a minor injury can lie dormant for days, weeks or months and then suddenly become serious. What starts out as a headache can turn into convulsions or seizures, with vomiting or nausea, slurred speech, weakness or numbness in joints or extremities, loss of coordination or motor control, or an inability to wake.

I like the way Dirrells head injury suddenly became "live" when Showtime were telling him and his " boy " Ward this fight needs to happen a whole seven months then booom shit we better pull out. It's a crock of shit, like the title of the thread 24 hours earlier his career is in danger, now his trainer comes out to not worry all his fans ( what fans? ) he will be fine he just needs time out. Fuck right off with that, Dirrell knows he is fucked in this, fighting Ward in his hometown with a win only good enough or he is out.

He has done what he came to do made himself a name every boxing fan knows Dirrell now, hey I wouldn't be surprised if Wards/Dirrells promoters got together and said this fight will be worth so much more down the line maybe on HBO, it is pointless to make this fight now Ward is already through Dirrell is on the verge of going out, how anyone can buy this shite is unreal.

The guy will be back in the ring as soon as he possibly can with the legal element of this super six lets him be.

LOL @ quoting a personal injury lawyer as a source. That was meant as a joke, right?

Taeth would be an expert on this, I mean he frequents the same magical gym as the expert neurologist.

Speaking of which, tax season is just a few weeks away, I might need 1 of those experts to help me out. I'm pretty sure a few frequents this magical gym.

Skel's right. They probably think of each other as the best fighters left in the tournament. Why would either of them want to spoil their momentum right now. Honestly this is very curious.

Guys, I heard Dirrell just hired some personal reputation attorneys to handle any possible slander online as a result of this decision, so be careful where you tread.

All claims are said to be dealt with by the law office of attorneys Dewey, Cheatum, and Howe.

I'm just really pissed off because I am getting tired of good potential fights not being made and all the selfish reasons for them. Maybe I have not been a fan long enough to get used to it, but if it's always been like this no wonder we're losing so damn much interest. It's pretty discouraging.

Only good fight now on the horizon for me is the dude I don't want to see because he is a bonafide cheating scum. Pro boxing blows. that is all.

Welcome to the club as a frustrated hardcore boxing fan. Hardcore boxing fans are like the abused wife, she's been abused long enough now and just takes it all in stride and can't seem to muster the courage to move on and leave.

How is that not cause for alarm? A change in personality is very dangerous if you understand the brain trauma that is attached to that. It means there has bean a significant change to the neural networking of his brain for there to be a noticable difference.

How is Dirrell a coward when he went in and faced the two biggest punchers in the tournament one after another? Not to mention he stood right in front of Abraham nearly the whole fight and was throwing punches whole heartily. I think he found Froch more awkward than he anticipated, but he deserved to win that fight, and Froch resorted to rough tactics and illegal inside fighting to earn a hometown decision. Sure that fight was ugly, but we saw Dirrell come on strong late and hurt Froch pretty badly.

Why do I have a magical gym just because a neurologist goes to my gym? I'm sure its not the only one in north america where this is so, I am just fortunate enough to have one at my gym.

Well done Dirrell, you have managed to get rid of the final drops of credibility you have.

Is he still claiming this was because of Abrhams punch? It wasn't even that hard! He would have got his with far more had he got back to his feet (and didn't he know it)

Yet the scans he had in the hospital immediately after the fight showed nothing. Not even a hint of a concussion.
