Default Who hopes there is a thunderstorm on the day of the Royal wedding?

I don't even live in the country, but already I am extremely irritated by this Royal wedding nonsense. Obviously I despise the monarchy as an extremely outdated concept with no place within a functioning modern democracy. But what galls me the most is the significant role these former dictators still hold over the UK. Everyone in the country is getting a day off because a couple of young ones are getting married? I think it is great for people to have a day off work, but because of this? It is outrageous. And British taxpayers are paying for it all. In a time of austerity the British tax payer is paying for an OTT wedding that will likely end in divorce if the parents are anything to go by. I'm sure Bilbo will come on harping about revenue that is made by it all, but that is besides the point. Anyone buying Royal wedding souvenirs should be rounded up and they should all be shot at dawn. I think most of these young offenders are thinking much more clearly than most of Middle England.

Youth offenders scrub up for the royal wedding - Crime, UK - The Independent

I hope that there is a thunderstorm on the day and that both of the young protagonists are systematically electrocuted. Come to think of it I dream of sheath after sheath of lightning thunderbolts taking them all out one by one. If that were a possibility I might watch it, but otherwise no. And that's the final thing that enrages me. I want to watch the news when I turn on the TV, but I can guarantee that even out here BBC world will be giving round the clock coverage to it all.

So, who else is hoping for thunderbolts and lightning?

To be fair, i'd imagine the revenue gained from the event will far outweigh the cost of staging it.

I don't want it to rain though. I hope it's sunny. Nothing worse than having a day off and having to stay in because the weather is shit.

master stroke making it a public holiday though I expect the masses will be in the pub getting pissed

apart from women and gays that is

think people are making more of it abroad than they are here - certainly won't be any street parties round near me !

I don't care about it really. I'm not even arsed about it being a public holiday because I get Friday's off anyway. Ono's right though, nowt worse than it raining on a day off.

They made it a public holiday whoa and I thought Fox, CBS, NBC and every other channel besides ESPN carrying the State of the Union was over the top.

I live in London, so it would be shit if my day off was ruined by the rain! It's not like I have to take any notice of it or anything

I woke up this morning to check my emails and what do I find? An email from my favourite British food delivery service entitled "Royal wedding fever" and a title once opened asking "The royal wedding-How are you celebrating?".

It is one giant con to dupe the plebs of the entire nation. They are thinking let's placate them with a day off and the media and big business is manipulating us all into believing it is some kind of significant event. It isn't. It is a giant propaganda exercise.

What we should really be pushing for is a public referendum on these unelected big eared in-bred freaks. Instead what we get is no public discussion and a juvenile wedding rammed down our throats. And even I am getting it from companies I use to buy bloody Jaffa cakes!

See, and because it's a holiday nobody supports me and wants it to rain. Like Mark said, it was a masterstroke. The Royal bastards!

Check out those eyebrows, and tell me whether anyone can deny she has a really dense hairy bush.

Anyway, who is getting married - is there a wedding on or something?
