Default Manny Pac v Shane Mosely

How well would have the Pac Man done against the Shane Mosely that lost to Floyd Mayweather. I think Shane may have beaten him and that Floyd made Shane look old by boxing brilliantly. It was a live Shane who nearly KOed Floyd as well.

I would like to see this fight and I still think Mosley wins. I can't see Pac stopping Mosley. Pac can be stopped by Mosley if he waits for Mosley to start punching and then trades with him like he has a habit of doing. Either way this is an explosive fight and I would really like to see it. Much more than Pac/Berto. I think that is a 4 to 5 rounder for Pac. If no Pac/Mayweather then I'd like to see Pac/Mosley.

This fight is very interesting even prior to Floyd vs. Mosley fight, Mosley is a solid in WW category, at this point in time, if he(Mosley) cant stop Pacquiao in third or fourth round, I'll go for Pacquiao by decision or even stoppage 11th or final rounds.

I think the referee plays a big part in this fight. Pac is not that technically sound as an infighter and doesn't block the upper cut in the middle. Mosley will surely try to neutralize Pac's combination punching by tying him up and attempting to take advantage of that upper cut. Hatton tried this but left himself to open. If Bayless doesn't allow the clinching, Pac will be able to use his speed more effectively in tearing down Mosley's stamina. I think this is the biggest factor for Mosley in the fight.

My prediction for this fight is Mosley won't have enough bad guy in him to force the use of dirty tactics against Pac and try to go punch for punch. If this happens, Mosley goes down by the six round but not out. They quit by the 11th round if he doesn't get knocked out by then. Why? Pac emphasis has been more on power than speed training for this fight. I think we'll all be surprised as Pac steps into the ring a a hearty 152+. After this fight, I expect a lot of chatter and build up for him to face Martinez.

I think Manny would have destroyed that Shane. Of course he may have had to get off the floor to do so. But Floyd's speed drove Shane crazy throwing what? 40 punches a round? How the heck would/is Shane have/gonna handle that speed with twice as much activity?

That is an absolute suicide mission, but a win over Sergio would put Manny on yet another level from where he is now.

    Agree with this post entirely.

Having watched afew Mosley fights this week my conclusions were, he is too nice in the ring and he relies on holding alot to catch his breath.

Against Floyd he was touching gloves throughout the fight. At one point Floyd punch him in the face when he was talking to him but afew seconds later he was trying to touch gloves with Floyd again. He needs to be alpot less friendly in this fight. The holding is something he has always done but it has been more evident in recent times as he has struggled with the pace due to old age. If the ref gets on his case early and forces him out of his comfort zone his entire gameplan falls to pieces. If he is able to tie Pac up I see him being relevant in the fight for longer, possibly lasting until the 8th beofre his old age takes it toll.

Yes agreed why touch gloves all the time, just punch the guy in the face and body.

Shane did look in good condition at the weight in. It is going to be a good fight.
