    Default Groves fighting for free??

Does anyone give Groves a chance? I simply can't see it. As for wagering his purse - I hope that's a publicity stunt....although difficult position to get out off - if he said no he's gonna be called a bottler!! Still can't see how justifies ppv either but so intrigued I'll prob end up paying. Enjoy

Of course it's a publicity stunt. It's been used many times to promote a fight. Groves needs his purse to live. Plus, he will owe Hayemaker money, his trainer money, the costs he has had to pay for his trips to Miami etc - he isn't going to chance throwing that money away.

Forget that bet it was just nonsense. Been done a million times. The board quickly squashed it, boxers are not allowed to bet on themselves. Makes for good hype though.

If they were serious they would have done it in private. But anyone with half a clue knows Groves can get 3/1 for his money so it's a ridiculous bet anyway

Adam Booth has said that the bet doesn't count.

I personally am backing Groves. I know DeGale should win and is the favourite but I think George has his number.

It explains why Adam Booth was so quiet throughout. He had just seen his wages go into DeGale's hands like George's had. Even Adam Booth knows George doesn't have a chance. You can see it in his body language.

I have to congratulate these two boys on a good sell of the fight

I can't wait for this one now and don't care if the other fight has turned into a farce. They got my money

I don't agree with you about Booth. I think he's super confident that he can create game plans for his fighters.

However, I totally agree he must have shit his pants when that bet was being struck. He might have played it cool but I bet he was dying to shout out "shut the fuck up and sit down Georgie"

Heh heh very funny seeing Booth just sitting there. Groves' body language really doesn't look good - to me he is already beat. I find myself really torn - Degale really pisses me off with his arrogance but think he will go further as a British fighter....also as the trash talking is going on I was gagging to hear Groves call Degale "toothless" - would've loved that! Yep gonna pay the money and enjoy!

I want Groves to win too, just watching the Ringside programme now he looks very powerful in training and now they are showing the Anderson fight again. Groves was in serious danger of tiring himself out in the first 2-3 rounds but was still throwing the harder shots. His defence looked dodgy but when he started listening to Booth in the corner he did start boxing better and stayed away from slugging it out. Hopefully he has worked a lot on the defence and his conditioning. If saturdays fight goes past 7 he could need that magical 2nd wind.

Have you seen their amateur fight that Groves won? it's on youtube and i personally couldn't split them but with a gun to my head to decide a winner i think i would have gone with Degale.

Hoping Groves does the business tomorrow i think he has the power to stop Degale it's just whether or not he can land whats needed
