Exaggerated is the correct term to describe his behaviour. He didnt fake anything. You try getting sucker punched by a lethal puncher and see what happens.
Dirrell and co are very clever as they are leaving lots of time for people to forget about it, letting the dust settle as tine is a good healer then he will take a couple of low profile fights then b back and un noticed!!
Very shrude and cowardly
Pretty much sums up what anyone with half a brain realised at the time.![]()

I don't think the fact that he didn't immediately drop means anything really. Head injuries do not follow any set pattern.
As some anecdotal evidence, when I was a kid I was slid head first into a ciderblock we were using at home plate while playing baseball. I got up and, aside from a throbbing headache, was fine for about five minutes. I then got ridiculously dizzy and nauseous and half-staggered, half-crawled my way back home. My mom rushed me to a clinic and I was diagnosed with an amnesiatic concussion (or something like that. I can't remember the specific term). I initially remembered almost nothing of what happened after I originally hit my head. The concussion was serious enough that the doctor told me to stay awake all night and instructed my mom to check on me regularly to ensure I did not pass out/fall asleep and die.

That makes the two of us because im an avid fan of Cintron and your other post is respectable..
As a boxer, it disgusts me when people who has never boxed before are so quick to accuse a fighter of " faking " injuries etc... Anyone who has fought before would not dare say something so stupid and disrespectful...
you seem to be confusing being knocked out cold and having a concussion.
what i see when i look at that clip is a fighter who gets hit by a cheap shot thrown by a guy with devastating power, after having slipped and half fallen to the ground. at first dirrell is shocked that he's been hit and looks up at abraham while rolling back on the ropes. then i see him realise that he was just deliberately fouled, and knowing that he was running out of gas from running the last few rounds all the while getting hit with greater frequency by a fighter that was getting stronger and swinging wilder and hitting harder out of desperation. so he decided to act all hurt and unable to fight knowing that he would at least get sympathy in the loss, or a win via DQ. which is what he got. i'd also like to add that he probably wasn't really faking. he got smashed by that right hand and definately wasn't expecting it. it would have been suicide to get up and try to fight...so he lays down and holds his face cause it feels like it just got hit by a truck. thats normal. did he play it up? hell yeah...but i think you see, what transpires after this clip ends is that he's all confused and emotional and doesn't even understand what his corner are saying to him. he's all crying and shit, thinking he's lost. i don't think that was fake. i think he was concussed
and a concussion is not the same as being knocked out cold. nice video tho.
