JUst rewatched the fight and was supprised because it was a very good fight.
Reason I am supprised is because I have read in many different places that the fight was poor.

Balls
I agree, it was a close fight. DLH would have won if he continue jabbing.
It was an okay fight entertainment-wise. I thought PBF was a clear and fairly wide winner though, so the scores surprised me.
I am one of the few who also enjoyed the fight. It seemed like a chess match at times. Sure, it was no Morales vs Barrera or Gatti vs Ward kind of fight but we're talking about 2 of the very best the sport of boxing has had who were more tactical that night.
I don't agree that DLH took a complete beating and punishment as some have said in other threads. Both came out clean after the fight. It was a punch at a time at the most. Oscar's jab was doing pretty good until he stopped jabbing.
I though it was close untill i watched it again. Had it 8-4 matweather.
Floyds eye was bruised up a bit as well.
i have only watched it live and i remember thinking it was close
didnt ODH start well and then seem to get Tired? floyd won the last 4 or 5 didnt he?
Officially the only saddo who has had a girlfriend
I rewatched it. 9-3 Mayweather. 7 or 8 rounds Mayweather I can also accept. The judge (or anyone else) that had Oscar winning needs to re-evaluate their scoring credentials. That judge who had Oscar winning 7-5 must have been promised an invite to one of oscars drag queen underwear parties.

When I watched it I had ODH winning in a close decision. Floyd made all the concessions particularly giving up the weight which made his performance even better. However ODH was done really as a top tier fighter by then and was finished at that level hence why he was unable to keep using his jab. Floyd’s better conditioning won at the end of the fight. It was a good close fight.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
But the main question is - why he didn't continue jabbing? It was clear after 9 rounds that DLH had only one way to win the fight - knock Mayweather out. In stead he lost atleast two rounds more.
Oscar De La Hoya's fight against Felix Sturm show some key points of his weakness. He lost some of his speed when moving to middleweight division. As we all may remember, Sturm dominated that fight and the decision (UD 12 to DLH) was one of the most stinking robberies even in Vegas standard.
