I am no Steward fan, but who the hell fires their trainer a month out from the biggest fight of their career ?

Stupid decision on dawsons part firing him a month prior, may have been stupid to hire steward in the first place tho. Stewards a good trainer but just not right for dawson, dawson doesn't have the mindset steward likes to have in his fighters. Yeah bhop is licking his chops at these news of this.

Manny may be charging too much, a bit like Holyfield dropping him. This may backfire on Hopkins as he said the motivation is to out wit Manny Stewart and that seems a big motivator for him.

Manny probably told Dawson some things he didn't like about himself, so he fires him, I imagine Steward couldn't care less, good riddance.

I have like zero interest in this fight, I don't like either guy, and it has stinker written all over it, if that weren't bad enough, HBO made this a fucking PPV. I doubt that i'll even bother to watch it.

The more I think about it the more I think Chad Dawson is a flake. Didn't he fire Roger Mayweather pretty quick too

Manny would have been a good trainer for him, but I don't know if Dawson will ever fight differently than he does now.

I think it was Floyd Sr. he fired wasn't it? Could've been Roger as well idk. For whatever Mayweather srs. word is worth I remember him mouthing off about Dawson being lazy and not listening. Given the way he gasses out/falls asleep in big fights and now having fired Steward as well I suspect the guy just doesn't like working hard. He has real talent though, shame. Hard to imagine he'll have any confidence going into this fight now? Steward probably gave him all hell before they parted ways.

This seems like a trend. It was dan Birmingham then went to mustafah Muhammad then Floyd sr before steward. I think he had someone else before Birmingham too but I'm not sure who. I don't know if this is a bad thing or something that doesn't matter much. Couldn't help though.

I don't think it is such a big deal. He doesn't want to travel and so he has parted ways. He will likely be the same fighter another camp wouldn't have added anything new. I think he has all the tools to beat Hopkins anyway. At his best Dawson is a threat to anyone. More so against an old legend approaching 50.

I don't think it will be to much of an issue, Scully & Wright are not to bad as replacements imo

You figure he's not going to get KO'd by Hopkins, but if he was fighting Tavoris Cloud there would be BIG trouble. This is an important fight, but should he lose, I think he can rebound from that. Cloud could end Dawson's career if Chad didn't fight correctly.

I believe he has all the physical tools to beat Hopkins too. What I'm not sure about is whether the mental deficit is too big to overcome.
