Martinez did look quite poor last time out so the rumours may very well turn out to be true.
I wouldn't take any rumours seriously.
If it is true, it's a big step up for Floyd even if Martinez didn't look great last time out.
I'm assuming the fight would be at 154. Any less than that would be a joke considering Floyd has already fought there and is clearly naturally bigger now than he was when he fought De La Hoya.
Should really be at 150..but floyd wont do catchweights.
Decision via floyd.
I remember someone mentioning it to Mayweather at a press conference and he did not say no to the match up; So it could likely happen in the future. He will really 1 up Pacman, especially if Pac decides to act on his rumor of fighting Mayweather's leftover Ortiz in the future.
I wouldnt be surprised if it was true. I mean, I always thought Floyd should fight him.. Martinez has been getting so much praise for the past two years but imo, he's overrated.
He's a great athlete but not particularly a great boxer. He ignores too much fundamentals for my taste. I always thought Floyd would handle him rather easily based on styles.. If I see those flaws in Martinez, Im sure Floyd sees so much more..
Make it happen...
Also, i believe paul williams will beat him in a rematch. Why did they never fight again? This hype started after the flurry lucky shot that destroyed williams but was the hype deserved?!
Is this the same Paul Williams that got a gift decision against Lara? Lara followed the Martinez game plan and kept throwing the left hand over Pwills. It wasn't a lucky shot, he came close to landing it the round before. Just because his head was turned to avoid a punch doesn't mean it was lucky.
Floyd wont fight martinez....... Its Far too risky
So martinez is a pound for pounder after paul williams win?
Paul deserves another chance, its unfair to dismiss him when guys like margacheato are still in the spotlight just cause he got a corrupt promotor.
