Default Why did you not Box?

I am sure we all wanted to become ATG boxers and some of us got further than others. So wondered why did you not take it that extra step further from
Going to a gym to exercise
    Getting into the ring
    Sparring
    Having a contest
    Becoming amateur boxer
Becoming a professional contender, champion, journeyman
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.

Too old, too fat and just too nice of a guy the closest I got was hanging around Magazine st gym when I first moved down here, met Les bonano and some locals. I've been told if anything I'd be a better training than a boxer ha

My interest in boxing far out ways my abilities to actually do it. I have done some sparring with my trainer when exercising, but SHE floored me! That was the end of that!

I thought going out getting pissed and chasing questionable girls was more important.

I wish I'd taken it seriously
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

After sparring someone with a good jab, I gave up hope

When I was 18 I ripped a load of my Jaw muscle, weirdly by yawning. Now even touching the muscle can hurt on a bad day, but to be punched in the side of the head theres just no way I would be in horrible pain.

If it was not for that I would love to train just to help me get fit and work on my muscles and reflexes.
But to do all that and not be able to spar just seems a waste of everyones time really, they'd be better off giving the gym space I'd take up to someone else.

Because I have a brain and will make more money without brain damage, although football and ice hockey probably messed me up a little bit, but I'm good

I guess most of us boxing fans had some sort of dream or aspiration to become a boxer, I know I did. I'm really glad however that I didn't, I like having my health and all my marbles and no amount of glory or money can replace that when it's gone.
Mad respect to the pugs who become successful at it, but as for me, i'm just happy being a fan.

I've been lucky to find a trainer who can teach me all the skills and nuances of boxing without all the brain trauma. That alone is what keeps me away from truly "going for it" in boxing. I also don't think I have the dedication needed. I can work hard, and I go to the gym 5-6 days a week, but I am not competitive and I don't have the desire to dedicate my whole life to just boxing, there are more things that life has to offer, and even in martial arts, if you just box you are limiting your knowledge.

Never tried it. I was too busy playing softball and bowling. Yes bowling.

Plus my boobs are probably too big for boxing, they probably would have gotten in the way, and be too much of a target.
